Car description |
---|
I recently traded my camper for this truck and it was not running. We have since put a tune up including plugs and wires, coil, plugs, condenser, rotor, cap, and points new battery and it cranks right up like a good old Chevy is suppose to.
Brakes were upgraded to dish up front and bolt pattern is 5 on 5 front and rear. Some newer brake lines have been replaced. Newer type master cylinder works. We steam cleaned underneath and engine compartment. Frame is solid along with cab mounts. I had some center caps to dress out rims-tires have some age on them.
Transmission is turbo 400. Just replaced modulator valve and snugged up pan bolts. I would recommend servicing it. Motor is older model sbc I could not get to the back of motor to read the numbers. It doesn't smoke or knock. Some newer parts showing are fuel pump, water pump, and alternator. We have it hooked up to a gallon jug to start up with as the original tank is bad-but I do have a NEW gas tank that came with it. Some people are not putting the tanks behind the seats-since the bed floor is needing replaced you may want to relocate tank.
Body over all is good. Drip rails on roof not rusted out, doors are the worst and may cab be re-skinned. Other areas you can see in pictures. I do have a later 77 model bench front seat if you want it as the original front seat is shot and I have a piece of carpet over the springs.
I will try to get a video of it running and yard driving if this weather clears up. I don't mind storing it for 3 or 4 weeks provided most of it's paid for.
