This auction is a quick and dirty offering to see if someone might want to jump on this early and get a great deal. Please watch the auction as I will be adding to and working on the description. Im trying to ge5 a template to work where I can add more pictures. I have hundreds of pictures of the build. If you're serious about the car and want all the details please contact me and I am happy to go over it and send pictures. I have over $40,000 in parts in this car and that doesn't include the hundreds of hours it took to build. Please read through the description below as there are a handful of items that still need finished up on this car. Thanks for looking.
Completely ground up restored 69 Camaro. Full TCI tubular subframe and suspension, coil over shocks, show package, four link, fuel injected 95 LT1, custom body work, fourth generation Camaro wiring and interior -dash, steering column, console, front seats, nearly the entire car is new steel, new everything when built. So much to list I will try to break it down by section and hopefully cover all the amazing aspects of this car. This car is running and driving and "cruisable" but does have several items that still need completed to be a completed project, as if they ever are, there's always something you want to do better. That said the car is sold as is where is with the understanding that some items are functional be could be redone better, need some work or parts to finish, etc. this is a perfect car to buy now and tidy up over the winter and have fully ready to cruise in the spring. Many of the things I'm talking about are functional, but I would redo nicer for this type of car. I did a few things just to get it on the road and enjoying it and planned to work on and fix up perfect in the winters etc. I just wanted to have some fun with the car and put some miles on it and still go back and tinker on some items in the winters or down time. I built this car for myself to enjoy and never had any intentions of ever selling it. Not ever... but life happens and I had to have a fusion of my spine in my lower back, unfortunately the surgery was pretty unsuccessful and I have been on disability for some time. Other family medical bills have forced me to downsize everything I can so here's your chance to take my baby from me but at the same time really help my family out. I have well over $40,000 in parts invested in this car not including the hundreds of my hours I have into building it ground up, every single nut and bolt, and since it is sitting at about 95% together I am offering it at a huge discount to what it would be when completed. With my back the way it is I have to be extremely careful on what I spend my limited good time on but will continue to try to push forward on completing the remaining tasks but as I do the price will only go up, not down. This is your opportunity to pick up a wonderful car and take it across the finish line yourself adding a great deal to its value in the process.
I'll start with the body steel. Everything was either Goodmark or DII (dynacorn) Panels. The only thing from the original car is the roof and A pillars and the inner structure of the b pillars and package tray. All new panels were....
Full front end: both fenders w/ extensions, wheel wells, radiator support, upper and lower front valances, cowl hood, RS grill and headlight setup.A full floor with seat pans, full firewall with torque boxes, both tulip panels, inner and outer rocker panels, both doors, full trunk and drop offs, inner and outer rear wheel wells, both full quarter panels, the under the rear window filler panel, rear frame rails, inner tail panel structure and tail panel, trunk lid and spoiler.I think that covers everything- most of the car.
All that is riding on a fully tubular TCI subframe and suspension. Front TCI has the show package so the a arms and spindles etc are all chrome or polished aluminum parts, this setup gives you power rack and pinion steering which is nice, the rear is the TCI 4 link with subframe connectors. All 4 corners have adjustable coil over shocks and disk brakes. It is rolling on 17x9.5 ZR1 wheels with 275/xx/R17 tires (which are now 12 years old and junk even though they only have a couple hundred miles on them.
I built this car 12-13 years ago so at the time the fourth Generation Camaro was a great donor car. I bought a wrecked 95 Z28 with 70k miles and melded in as much of that car as I could into the 69 body.I moved over the entire 95 wiring harness, LT1 engine, 4L60E transmission, even the rear differential.I used the complete 95 steering column, brake booster and master cylinder, fit the entire HVAC system into the firewall. The interior has the 95 Camaro dash, front seats, and center console. All wiring, sensors, and airbags are in place and should function if you want to put the fuse in. The engine ECU has a power tune and has the emissions etc deleted so the don't throw codes not being there. The ABS lights are on as those lights do not come from the ECU but the abs computer. The abs was not moved over so the lights are on. A guy might need to pull the cluster out and remove those lights if they bother you too much.
Just replaced fuel pump and braided steel fuel lines. 95 OEM fuel pump retro ed into 69 tank.
The full 6 piece glass set is new and is smoked glass as you can see in the pictures. It is not tint film. Rear quarter windows I made to not have rollers to roll them down, the door glass has brand new power window mechanisms.
All tail lights, marker lights, all seals (soft seal), and chrome trims were new.
Too many little and expensive things to remember and list like billet hood hinges, custom aluminum radiator with dual electric fans.
The paint is beautiful and in very nice condition, it stays in a climate controlled garage and has only been out cruising for a few hundred miles. The colors are Lamborghini Blue Spark and Lamborghini Titanium Silver stripes. The pearl in the blue is amazing and looks awesome in the sun. Not easy captured in the pictures. Bumpers and grill trim are painted body color. Some over the custom work was filling panel gaps. If you look in the pictures you will see the rocker panel to rear quarter panel seam has been weld filled, as is the rear quarter panel to under back window filler panel. Again the seams around the tail lights panel are rear quarter panels is also weld filled which carries into some of the seams in the trunk give the car a very smooth seamless unibody.
With all that said there are a few things that still need done to have amazing show stopper. (Although it has won and placed in a number of car shows not 100% complete.
The interior could use the touch of an upholstery shop. The 95 Camaro bucket seats and the rear set are black but the rear is from 69 and it would be nice to put a matching design in all the seats. I was considering trying to retro in a GTO or new 5th gen Camaro back seat. I also had intentions of building custom fiberglass door panels and have them covered in matching leather to accommodate the power window switches and door handles nicer. It has standard interior door cards on it now as place holders. I am currently working on installing 3 point seatbelts in the front but do not have seatbelts for the rear seat yet until I figured out what type of seat the rear seat was going to be permanently.
The windshield wipers and linkage are installed and the plug is there from the wiring to plug in the new style intermittent wipers of the 95. But I do not have a motor installed yet. I haven't much worried about it because I don't drive it in the rain but it's something that could be finished up.
The RS headlight doors are not hooked up to open. I have a pair of 3rd gen Firebird pop up headlight motors that need mounted and wired in. You can easily swing them open by hand if you're going to drive in the dark or a fair amount of light makes it through the grills without even opening them. Again not a rush/ have to have it done to enjoy the car item but something that needs done.
The radiator and AC condenser need mounted a bit nicer with some spacers etc.
The car has open headers at the moment, it's badass loud and intimidating but it can gas you out if you're taking a slow cruise around town. I'll take it to an exhaust shop sometime and have an x pipe and some small race mufflers installed one of these days. Of course the price will go up then too.
The door glass is a bit sloppy, I thought I'd get away with using the original 69 window rollers and tracks with the new power window mechanisms but they are a bit wore out and are a bit sloppy and won't adjust perfectly. It's a couple hundred dollars for the new parts and something I will fix if it takes a while to sell the car.
Actually if it takes too long I'll have everything fixed and finished and will be raising the price of the car as it goes. I'm sure there's over little things I'm not remembering right now. I have bad back issues and it is slow going with this and other commitments I have. I'd love to give someone a deal and not have to deal with it all myself.
Please contact me if you need pictures and info.
