Car description |
---|
Up for sale ismy 1975 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Landau with a factory 454 big block V8 engine. The original owner's manual is in the glove box. There are currently 119,888 actual miles on the odometer, most of which are highway miles. The first owner had the car six months, travelingback and forth between Minnesota and Houston. I purchased it from him when it was six months old with approximately 40K on the odometer.
I have enjoyed 42 years with this car and it's time to pass it on. I have routinelyhandled any and all maintenance myself, changing the oil about every 3500 miles with Valvoline 10/40. I wash, dry and wax her on a regular basis with Mother's wax and Lucus conditioner, (more recently have been using Caribou wax). I have stored her away every winter, she has never faced the salted Minnesota roads. She has never been involved in an accident and has a clean title, with all numbers matching throughout, except on the rims.
Below are the things to be aware of:
the carpeting on the driver's floor needs to be replaced
there is about a 3 inchcrack in the passenger corner windshield (has not grown in 20 years)
there are a few superficial rust/putty spots close to the edges on the body
the wheel pulls very slightly to the right while driving due to one of the front tires being a little larger than the other
the driver side tail light has a small crack in the cover (there is red tape on it now)
there is a slight oil leak and the valvecovers may need to be re-sealed
the heater motor doesn't blow heat (I have never needed heat)
the exterior vinyl roof has some very slight cracking
Aftermarket add-ons:
under the bumper adjustable shockscustom stainless steel straight pipe dual exhaustchrome trim around the vinyl toplens coversalloy rimsEmmrod paint job ($4K) (same color as original)oil pressure and water gauges added in 1976
