Car description |
---|
This is the first year of the Corvair, and this automobile is a gem. The mileage of just over 25,000 miles is believed to be authentic. The car is in amazing condition. The paint is very good, with just a few very minor chips; the chrome is excellent, but has a few very small indentations on some of the trim pieces. I have rebuilt the brakes, new master cylinder, and due to a long storage period, I had the gas tank removed, cleaned and coated. In addition, I have replaced the engine oil gasket. I recently installed new Coker white wall radial tires that have the look of bias tires, but the safety and handling of radial tires. The car is an automatic Powerglide, and the vehicle runs like a new car.
One of the few options on the car is a gasoline heater, which works well. The other option is fold down rear seat.If you are a collector, this is one of the finest examples of an original Corvair. It even has the smell of 1960! The only flaws, are a very small tear in the front bench seat, some wear showing on the drivers seat (no tears, just a little roughness to the material), and a small tear in the back corner headliner (see pictures).
I plan on listing this vehicle locally, so I reserve the right to end this listing at any time.
