Car description |
---|
Up for auction is a 1956 Chevy Bel Air Wagon. This is a California car, has been in California since new, even has a Camarillo California High School sticker still on the windshield from the 70s. I bought this car from a friend about 3 years ago who is the son of the original owner. This car has been stored inside a warehouse for the last 25 years. I have title and registration. This car is a project that I just don't have the time to finish, I simply have to many hobbies and can not set aside time to work on this awesome car. So I have decided to sell it instead of letting it sit in my warehouse for another 25 years. I will do my best to describe this vehicle and will provide several pictures. This car will have to be shipped buy the purchaser at the expense of the purchaser, and all sales are final, there are no refunds or returns and no warranty is expressed or given. Local pickup available. Payment must be made in full at time of auction end and of course before pickup or shipping. Item is listed locally as well so if it sells local first I will end the auction.
Car is in really good shape, has no rust out (of course a little surface rust) no rot, and the body has no major issue or bondo, a magnet sticks everywhere. The exterior was painted a few years ago, at that time the moldings were removed (i still have them all and they will be included) as I planned to paint the car black and not have any moldings or trim. The paint is good but was intended to be repainted with a finish coat after the restoration was complete which would still be the plan for the next owner i'm sure. Their are a few little dings from working on it but that was the reason for not doing a finish coat until later. As you can see from the pictures the car looks really good as is. The bumpers are also blacked out, the only part not blacked out is the grill. and the hood bird. The windows are all original but a few are cracked, the windshield, driver right rear, passenger front and rear doors are all cracked, that is 4 out of 10 that are cracked. The interior has not been touched buy me and needs restore, no door panels or carpet. Has the head liner and the rear decking and the dash looks good to me, see pictures. The engine is a Chevy 350 I got from a friend out of a running 80's Camaro, and the transmission is a Chevy 350 I got out of a different friends running 68 Camaro (he was changing to a TH400), both are installed but are untested and I can not guarantee them, mileage is unknown. The engine has fuel injection but no computer because my plan was to change the manifold and add a carburetor, but I never got that far. Has wheels and tires as seen in the pictures. The hood needs some minor body work. Car needs wiring and lights and everything a project restoration requires, please see pictures for condition, completeness and whats included. Again this is project car from 1956, I have done my best to describe the car but everybody has there own opinion on condition, so please see the pictures and feel free to as any questions during the auction (not after), sale is final with no refunds or returns and shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Thank you and I hope the auction winner loves this car!
