Description

It's the real deal! 1964 IMPALA SS CONVERTIBLE. Most of the metalwork is done. The old girl was a typical rust bucket from Arkansas. I bought it a couple of years ago and have put a ton of work into it. Here is a quick rundown.
BODY: Replaced entire floor, braces and inner rockers. It is a ONE piece floor, so no seam. I did it on a rotissere (see pics) it is square and came out pretty nice. I think it looks good enough to paint body color. Before I did the inner rockers I plug welded a 1/4 fish plate on the z brace. I also put a 1" angle inside that runs from the cowl to back wheelwell. Flex shouldn't be a problem! Trunk is a new one piece unit from Classic Industries. Drivers quarter is new. (check out the trunk gap) I started to patch the passenger side but was thinking of just replacing it like the other side. (It is not complete.) Front clip is a decent dry Arizona unit. Core support is new.Doors are ok but do need some attention. Comes with extra new hood! (aftermarket)FRAME: Correct convertible frame with all of the correct mounting points. Sandblasted and coated with POR15. Then it was painted with UV stabilized semigloss black. I have tried powder coating but this works well for touch up. Scrape the frame? Krylon rattle can semi gloss and good as new. All new urethane bushings.INTERIOR: It didn't have any when I bought it, so it is all parts I located . Dash isn't cut up . Has a cool 60's hot rod steering wheel. All of the glass is intact. Convertible rack and motor are there but obviously needs new fabric.DRIVETRAIN; Motor is a good running 1967 327 that was in my 63 before I put the 409 back in. Detaile, resealed and painted.(not the original motor) GM H.E.I. distributor 4bbl quadrajet. Trans is the original Powerglide. It works but I'm pretty sure there will be a better choice for the new owner. Have the driveshaft. Brakes are disconnected. It has a nice nearly new exhaust system that came from my 63.The car does not run! It is a project. I installed a new fuel tank but haven't run the lines.Motor needs to finish being connected . (or just put in an LS3) I left the rotissere reinforcement in to lift the body back off to paint or coat the underside. No rusty bolts it will come off easily! There is a lot of extra parts not shown. most of the trim. An extra front and rear bumper. Lots of little parts.
THE BUSINESS STUFF: I do want to sell this car. I have a clear California Title in my name. It is on a non-op so there are no back fees due.No trades please!! I am only selling so I can focus on my 63. If it dosen't bring a reasonable price, I'll just put it away for a later date. If you have been looking for a 64 this might be your answer. No hidden surprises under primer/bondo. No title stories.I will sell worldwide. Shipping is at your expense but I can help load it. Under 10 feedback please don't bid. I had a bad experience with some hustler trying to sell my car without paying for it. You must have a paypal account or I will cancel your bid. I am easy to get along with but kinda don't have much use for games. I have a ton of pictures I will email to the new owner to document the progress. If you have any questions give me a call.
