Stk 2332 1961 Chevrolet Nomad Station Wagon Most folks visualize a tri-five 2-door wagon when they think Chevy Nomad. What we have here is a later version of that classic model. The 1961 Nomad was Chevrolet's designation for the Impala 4-door wagon. We are told that this particular '61 Nomad was preserved by the same family for all but the last few years and carefully restored over the last few decades. The very straight body was professionally refinished two-tone in 1999. All of the chrome trim is very nice including a huge roof rack. Factory wheels with period correct wide-white radial tires and original Impala full wheel covers provide a lasting visual impact. The interior was fully restored (2013) in grey and white cloth/vinyl. All of the glass is tinted and there is a third seat that faces rear traffic through a power-operated tailgate window. Sounds come from an aftermarket AM/FM stereo that looks very much like the factory radio. The 283ci small block has been rebuilt and appears original. It is equipped with a Carter 4-GC 4-barrel carburetor - the carb that came on many of the '61 283/348 engines. Exhaust is routed through factory 'ram's horn' manifolds and sounds great through dual exhaust. A three-speed manual transmission with a '3-on-the-tree' shifter transfers power to a stock differential. Power steering was optioned and brakes are factory manual drum. Look at the photos again - if you want a rare classic Chevrolet for your collection or just for fun come look at this Nomad. It's one of the best in existence. ALL VEHICLES SOLD ' AS IS'
