Car description |

This is a 1968 Chevrolet C10 truck. It is a short wheel base, two wheel drive. It will need some attention before being truly road ready, but is a good candidate for a shop truck project. It has flaws, but it also has some good points. I will do my best to as many of each out as I can. If you are looking for a get in it and cruise to the local show or race and be the big winner,, sorry, this one ain't for you. If you are looking for one that already has had a big block Chevy engine swapped and that you can build and make the way you want it, keep reading.
1968 Chevrolet C10 short wide bed. Yes, it has rust. Yes, it has dents. Yes, it has mechanical and cosmetic issues. Yes,, it could be damn cool with a little attention, time and money. Let us begin.....
1968 short wide bed truck. It has issues. The body,, well, it is old and tired. It has rust in the floor pans. It has rust in the rocker panels. The passenger side inner fender well has been eat out at the front by battery acid (they all are). It has dents. It has funky ass paint. The drivers side window will not roll down. It needs the inside door relay. It needs help. But,,, it has not rusted through above the windshield on the interior, The steel bed floor is good, except for some odd drilled holes. It has a tailgate. it has a front bumper. It comes with a new set of rocker panels.
The engine is a 454 big block from a late 70's - early 80's truck the best we can tell. It has been upgraded to HEI ignition. Has a Holley four barrel carburetor. Factory cast iron exhaust manifolds. It has had the later model, clam shell style engine stands installed. The motor is very mild. it starts and runs fine, very smoothly. No major oil leaks. Big radiator should keep the big block cool.
The truck has a 700R4 trans and the TV cable was not set properly and like all of them,, it has burned out second and high gears. The truck still has reverse and low so it will load on a trailer with no issues.
It is five lug wheels with front disc brakes. Power brakes and power steering. It has had new exhaust installed, but they cut the rear panhard bar and ran the pipes through that area. It will need an adjustable bar anyways if you lower it, very inexpensive. It has a DANA 60 rear end that was originally from a leaf sprung truck that has been fitted to the coil spring perches. I would recommend going over the welds a little more closely.
The inerior has the center seat out of a Suburban. It is not bolted down, just in there. We removed the carpet to show the condition of the floor boards. The head lights and tail lights burn.
All in all, this is a cool old truck that you can afford to buy and still work on and make it the way you want it. I would NOT drive it anywhere,, remember the trans is out. It needs tires, it needs work, it needs money and it needs time. But hey,, it is a start. Thanks.

Upon closer inspection, the truck DOES NOT have a Dana differential, it does have a 12 bolt. Thanks.
