Car description |

1969 G20 Van. Basically one owner in Socal its whole life since 1969, purchased from original owner after he had it for only 6 months. NEVER been in an accident. In phenomenal condition for a 50-year old van. Frame, floors, doors, even roof rust free. Very small bubbling starting by the front water channels (poor design where water gets trapped), but other than that, body is excellent condition. All the gauges work. All the lights and electrical work. Glass in great condition. All the doors close and lock solid. Windows roll up and down great. Hard to find original wheels in great condition. Paint is in great condition. Bumpers are chrome shiny, no dents or pitting. They don't come much nicer than this in this kind of original condition.
Only real issue inside are the seats. They have covers on them, as the original seats need recovering. Unfortunately, nobody reproduces the original covers, but an upholstery shop could do it. Some people just swap in newer seats.
Mechanically, it's in great condition as well. 283 V8 engine was rebuilt about 1995 to use unleaded gas: 307 at present. Three-on-the-tree transmission with heavy duty clutch, oversized radiator, electric fuel pump. Brakes are solid. The carburetor was just updated this summer to enable easier starting without use of a manual choke. Makes a huge difference, starts right up. I'm sure I'm forgetting something, feel free to ask.
This van was always treated really well, and it shows. These are getting harder and harder to find, let alone in this condition. Not looking for tire kickers or looky-loos, or interested in trades. Sorry. No joy rides. Deposit required within 24 hours. Cash or cashier's check. For sale locally, reserve the right to end listing at any time.
