1968 Chevy one ton dually ex fire truck. Bought new stayed in service until 2014. Always in heated garage and well maintained.13700 original miles. The original 327 overheated at approx. 10 thousand miles, was replaced w/a Goodwrench 350 that utilizes the 327 intake and exhaust manifolds, and 4 barrelcarburetor. Truck has surface rustunderneath, and bubbling is starting on the drivers side cab corner, and the passenger side door lower front. Mechanically the truck needs the drivers sideexhaust donut, [quite loud], and the right rear rubber brake line replaced. Brakepedal almost goes to floor as rear circuit has leak due to blown rubber line. Otherwise, the brakes are good and truck passed inspection 2015,[quite strict], with almost no miles put onsince. Line should be replaced and bled, then brakesshould be good.Front brakes stop it well now. Transmission is a granny gear 4 speed, with a low geared rear. I would guess either 4:11 or 4:56. Transmission and clutch work as new. Truck will cruise at 60.Goes down the road straight, engine runs well w/no smoke or unusual noises. It only has approx. 4000 miles on motor.Cosmetically the truck hasnumerous scrapes and scratchesassociated with fire dept. usage. I amselling this for afriend who is not computerliterate, however I personally owned the truck for about a year after it was put out of service and can answer anyquestions. He is selling as he doesn't use it and is losing his winter storage.
