Up for sale is a 1977 Chevy full size blazer that a friend of mine has had in his garage for many years.
The blazer has a 4spd, granny low 1st gear manual transmission ( I think an NP465) and an NP205 transfer case that were both sent out and professionally rebuilt a number of years ago. Previous owner states that they are both 1 ton rated. Although it was probably 12 years ago, I know personally that there wasn't more than 5,000 miles put on them since. The axles are from a late 60s chevy 3/4 ton (I Think). The front is a recently rebuilt Dana 44 and the rear is a Dana 60. Both axles are fully functioning. I would certainly recommend a disc brake conversion however. The blazer has a full 6 point roll cage that is plated and welded to the floor and to the frame. During this installation parts of the frame that were questionable were internally strengthened with added steel.
It is quite solid for the year and runs and drives quite well. The truck was built primarily for off road use, so the sway bar is disconnected, it has super swamper boggers that are bias ply and it has 4:10 gear ratio in the axles. These things make it not a good idea to drive this vehicle any long distance if you win the bid. For this reason I am listing it clearly as MUST BE TRAILERED HOME. I drove it to work last week and it did fine on the road. However until you get to go over it, the truck should go on a trailer.
Currently the blazer is not inspected and would need several items for that to happen. It needs an inside rear view mirror. I am not sure about all of the exterior lighting and it needs a horn. There are several things that will need to be taken care of by the winning bidder. There is a power steering leak and sounds like maybe a minor exhaust leak somewhere. The big things are done for this truck and it just needs some final touches and personalizations for you to have a serious off road vehicle that can be a road driver as well.
Blazer comes with a set of wheels that were in the process of being made into beadlock wheels. One wheel needs to be finished. If you know 16.5 inch wheels, you know if you are going to off road them you should have beadlocks.
PLEASE DO NOT BID UNLESS YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT OWNING THIS BLAZER. I don't have time to waste on bidders that do not follow through. If you are the winning bidder you are responsible for a $500.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit through pay pal within 24hrs. I encourage you to come check the blazer out in person at Evancho Motors, 21 Foster Ave in Freeland PA. We are located just 6 miles from interstate 81 or interstate 80. Makes transport easy for you! Ask any questions through eBay and I will respond. The blazer is up for sale locally and if there is a purchase I reserve the right to end the online auction early.
