Car description |
---|
Beautiful Venetian Red 57 Corvette Convertible, correct red waffle interior, white convertible top, 283 dual quad engine, 3 speed transmission. This car has undergone a complete frame off restoration to NCRS guidelines. This is not an over restored car with shiny clear coat paint, it is a single stage paint that has been applied and buffed to represent the factory style of finish in 1957. It will probably not be the shiniest car at your local car show, but it will be correct for the vintage in which it was produced.
This car received a NCRS Top Flight award in 2014. It has very few options other than the high performance dual quad engine. Radio delete, heater delete, manual windows, manual soft top. Just a good car that runs fabulous, and is easy to maintain.
Chassis is detailed to reflect the factory production methods including the part number stencil, various inspection paint dabs, rear axle rebound straps, reproduction exhaust system and correct hangers. Original grooved rear springs. Correct wheels, bias ply wide whitewall tires, beautiful hubcaps.
All chrome is very nice, no pitting or corrosion. All stainless has been polished, all gauges have been restored. Clock is temperamental and does not work. Engine compartment is detailed correctly, and painted to reflect original factory finishes.
Trunk is nicely finished with correct color reproduction mat, includes spare tire and wheel, jack, lug wrench, and jack crank tool.
Engine is a correct 1957 block with casting # 3731548. Engine is built to 270HP specs, although a hydraulic cam was used to minimize maintenance and valve adjustment. Heads have been upgraded to later style double hump high performance heads of early 60's vintage. This engine runs and performs better than any other dual quad 283 that I have ever driven. The dual quad intake and WCFB carbs are detailed, rebuilt and recolored. Engine starts very easy, pump the throttle a couple of times to set the choke and squirt some gas, and it will start on the first try.
I am reducing the size of my early C1 Corvette collection, I will be selling this Venetian red 57, along with an Arctic Blue with red interior 57. This car draws a crowd every time it is driven. Looks great, drives great, fill it with gas and enjoy lots of miles and smiles. Looking for a nice 67 roadster.
Please feel free to ask questions, the earlier the better. Don't wait until the last minute and submit a bunch of questions, I may not have time to reply in a timely manner. The car is being sold in "AS-IS" condition, no warranties are offered or implied. I highly recommend you either personally inspect or arrange for a qualified individual to inspect the car on your behalf. Again, don't wait until the last minute to do this. I am more than happy to take additional pictures of details upon request. Just remember, this is a 60 year old Corvette, it does not drive like a new car and does not come with a warranty. I have a moderate reserve on this car, don't ask, just bid what you are willing to pay for it. Or, don't take the risk of losing the auction and hit the buy it now button.
Purchaser is solely responsible for transportation cost and logistics. I can assist with loading for domestic or international shipping. The vehicle and title do not leave my possession until full funds are secured and verified by my financial institution.
