Car description |
---|
1964 Chevrolet G10 Cargo van, 100,240 original miles, 194 Cubic inch Straight Six, Automatic 2 speed Powerglide, 12 bolt 3:73 rear end. I have owned the van for almost 3 years and believe to be the 3rd registered owner. The van was a maintenance van for the Burlington County School department of North Carolina for almost 50 years. My plan for the Van was to keep it as original as possible, while making the drivetrain reliable and any modifications from original minimal. I am an ASE Master Certified Diesel Technician by trade and have performed the following upgrades and maintenance to the van

Ethanol resistant Daytona 1bbl Carburetor
HEI Distributor + Plugs + Wires

The van runs great, I have taken it on trips over 300 miles, you may have seen it at the Van Nationals In New York or Florida. I primaliary use it to go to the hardware store or short trips. I have a young son, but unfortunately can not take him in the van because of a lack of a car seat/windows. I am essentially selling the van because I am looking to replace it with a window (sportvan). One with side windows and rear seating, then I would be able to use it as more of a family van. I don't need to sell it,and I don't need help selling it. I have spent countless hours getting this one roadworthy. I see a lot of these vans listed, but they usually need lots of work to be roadworthy and reliable or are out of the average person's price range. This van I feel is right in the middle, ready to run, but not quite a 13k show van.
The van is in great shape for a 53 year old it has original rockers and is very solid underneath however there are a few issues as to be expected with a older vehicle. They list as follows... there are dings and dents on the van, it was used a work van for nearly 50 years it's to be expected, the roof is wavy in areas and in the rear corner there is some pitting (not rot, there is a small hole in the dr foot area (this is a common problem area to rust on these van if the windshield gasket was leaking) there is a patched area at the rh front rocker area. The Horn is in-op (needs guts in wheel) Plate light in-op (housing), rear door handle + clip missing, The side door is missing a lower door rod (have rod but have not installed)
Overall the van is very clean and runs well, it is not a "rot box" I am 10 min from the Tampa airport and could arrange to pick you up. I also work at a large truck dealer and there is ample room for a transport to pick up the vehice. I have a clean Florida title in hand. I encourage you to inspect or have someone inspect the van for you before purchase. I am a member of VCVC and VV and have owned 3 of these vans. Please ask any questions BEFORE you purchase. ALL SALES FINAL.
