Car description |
---|
Great running old Chevy. This truck has a newer 454 and turbo 400 Transmission. I was told from previous owners that the motor and trans combo was purchased new from GM (crate) and installed together at professional shop in Oregon. I have no proof of paper trail, but honestly the motor looks new when valve covered was removed. This combo issuppose to only have about 6,000 miles onthem. The truck has been in NMfor about6 years. *Update* -Is currently registered in New Mexico and has a clear title. Has brand new (zero miles) 10 ply Ironman tires. Brakes are good, drives smooth, no shakes or pulling, kind of unreal for a 31 year old vehicle.
The body has dings here and there (see all the pictures), no major dents and no rust issues. I installed a 1989 Chevy Suburban grill and lights "looks awesome", replaced front fender due to old one was dented and not worth the body work. I also primed the hood and roof due to paint fading. I have the original fender to show that it wasn't that bad and can go with the sale. I have the original grill and headlights, but plan on keeping those forother K30project. All headlights, parking lights, turn signals, brake light, dome &license plate light work perfect. Wipers work, but new blades are needed. AC is all on it and hooked up, but needs recharged. It has already been retrofitted to the R134. The heater works fine.
The interior is all original with minor wear/stains, notears on seat, door panels have some fading/stains and the dash has the usual cracks. Glass all good, original radio, carpet still good no holes, headliner foam still good and intact, but cloth was falling down so I removed the cloth (see picture), power locks &windows still work, but slow and need lubricated to speed them up or new motors? Drivers wing window has upper hinge broken, so I leave it shut. It has tilt steering column, door seals are good, but window felts need replacing "cracked or brittle".
I just replaced the fuel hose & filter, spark plugs & wires, distributer& rotor cap, oil & filter, air filter &antifreeze. Motor starts up with a tap of the key, idles smooth drives nice with lots of power and shifts crisp and solid "shift kit in trans".
Power steering was leaking at some point with noticeable build up around hoses and box and underside. I topped off the power steering fluid and it hasn't leak on me since. Has minor exhaust leak (Pass side doughnut), might only need tightened. It wasn't bad enough to deal with and goes away all together when the truck warms up.
Truck is equipped with a stow away goose neck hitch and also has a Class 5 Super Hitch & electric trailer brake. It also has electric fans in addition to the factory fan and comes on automatically with sensors. Has trans cooler, heavy duty radiator. This one-ton truck is set up for heavy tows.
I have tried to list everything I can think of and know, but please review all the photo's and compare this vehicle with others listed and bid accordingly.
