1937 Chevrolet Sports Coupe w/Rumble Seat
Rare and hard car to find, only 2,935 were produced. This car had been previously restored and very well maintained and cared for. The car was restored back to original nothing has been upgraded, modified, and or changed from the factory. It still has the original 216 engine, 3 speed manual transmission, closed driveline, and stock suspension. The car is still 6 volt. All the lights and gauges work (except for the interior dome light and the horn button). The chrome on the car has been restored. The paint is in good condition with some light scratches/scuffs in a few places around the car but can easily be removed with a light cut and polish. The interior was restored back to its original style but is loosely fit in a few spots most likely from normal wear and use of the vehicle. The interior window garnish moldings have been wood grained. The headliner has a couple stains and would likely need to be replaced (in my opinion). All the windows roll up and down nicely (except for the passenger side vent window which appears to be stuck). The doors open an shut nice and tight. The floorboards are in great condition no rust or rot. There are two spots that have a small patch most likely do to a previous rust issue found during restoration that was fixed. One spot is the rear tail pan that was cut out and replaced which is pretty common for the rumble seat model vehicles because when it rained water would get in through the rumble seat lid and collect in the tail pan area and there were only three small holes in the tail pan to drain the water but sometimes those holes would get clogged and water would sit and just collect back there. The patch goes from the passenger side to the drivers side in length and is about 3 inches in width. The second small patch is on the passenger side quarter panel that is approximately 6 inches in length and about 2 inches wide. These are the only two spots that I can see that have had previous work done. Overall the floorboards on this car are very nice and in very good condition with just those two minor repairs. Also the running boards are older reproductions, they are not original. The car comes with a few accessories an original banjo steering wheel, parking lamps, appleton spotlight, and a new reproduction GM locking gas cap. The car runs and drives perfect! Starts up with easy and runs down the road smoothly. Overall this is a beautiful car inside and out with just a few cosmetic issues but nothing major the car still shows beautifully at car shows and has taken home many first place awards. Ive taken the time to provided detailed pictures below and given an honest and accurate description of the cars condition. Serious buyers are more then welcome to come look at the car in person or have the car inspected by a third party at your own expense. The car is being sold as is, all sales are final. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time do to the car being listed for sale locally. Any questions please contact (805)312-6842
