Car description |
---|
Up for sale is a 1951 Chevrolet dump bed truck. Overall this truck is in good shape for its age. The engine was rebuilt 3.5 years ago and has maybe run a total of 6-8 hours since the rebuild. We were using this truck on the farm to move dirt around. GVW is 8800 lbs.
The truck was inspected and registered in 2013, but since we were not leaving the farm we discontinued it after that. I do have a clear Texas title.
I bought this truck from the original owner in Colorado. He had a small farm operation and used it to haul grain. The box on the back is a Timpte box with all the original pieces, pictured is a swing door I built for using it with dirt. The original back panels are in the truck bed and come with the truck.
Just about everything works on the truck, the biggest issue with it is the brakes have 1 leaking wheel cylinder and need to be bled. It is still on the original 6v system.
Parts added/repaired in 2013: Engine rebuild, Starter, Clutch, Lights, Brake master cylinder rebuilt, box and bed repainted and repaired.
I just put a battery in it 2 month ago and it starts right up.
Transmission is a 4 speed with first being a "granny" gear. Top speed is right around 40, which I only tried once, afterall, it is an old truck.
Wheels are the original split rims with tube style tires. All tires hold air, but are beginning to show signs of their age.
Buyer will be responsible for shipping arrangements, I will assist in loading it up. If you are in central to southern Texas we can probably work out a delivery plan for a fee.
Truck is also listed locally and auction could close early if it is sold.
