OH 45242 sales@sevenhillsmotorcars. com Contact a representative directly: Matt: 513. 708. 1468 vehicle description Seven Hills Motorcars is very proud to offer this completely frame off restored and completely numbers matching 1968 Corvette. The car is in immaculate condition; it looks greats. runs well. and is an awesome driver. This Corvette is priced to sell. always turns heads. and gets a TON of attention going down the road. The market on these chrome bumper Corvettes is red hot right now. There is absolutely no way anyone could duplicate this Corvette with this level of quality for anything near our asking price. The car was restored by a well-known Corvette restoration shop in Ohio. Ruth’s Corvette of Grafton. OH completed a documented full frame off mechanical and cosmetic restoration the car from 1996 to 1997. In the photos below of the restoration one can see where the car was stripped down to the bare frame and refinished from the ground up. The car has been driven just over 4. 00 miles since the restoration was completed so it still looks quite fresh. The car is finished in the beautiful and very rare color combination of Polar White (972) over Bright Blue Vinyl (414). This color is much more desirable and striking than the normal Black or Saddle interiors you usually see with a white Corvette; it really sets off the car and is the correct and original color combination and indicated on the trim tag and tank sticker pictured below. The low original mileage of 66. 45 is indicated as original on the title to the car and seems very plausible based on it condition. Please take the time to peruse each photo. the full video. the numbers. and all the information below to see how truly clean this Corvette really is from top to undercarriage. inside and out. This car comes with a massive amount of documentation and receipts dating back to 1979. The car also comes with the original tank sticker and there are photos of it before the restorer removed it from the gas tank. Almost every aspect of the car has been restored or freshened up. There are receipts with the car going way back totaling over $50. 00. Please view the final few minutes of the video below to carefully view all of the receipts and records. Also. this past year we had the engine rebuilt by a very well-known engine builder here in Cincinnati at an additional cost of over $5. 00. which is in addition to the massive figure above. This may seem expensive and it actually would have been cheaper to install a brand new crate engine. but it was very important to us that the original engine block was used and retained it matching numbers after machining. There are only a few hundred miles on the fresh rebuilt. Also included are dozens of photos of the restoration process. there are a few of them shown below. The car is completely numbers matching and there are photos below of the VIN stamp on the engine pad. engine build date. transmission codes. and trim tag. which all decode and match correctly. As a side note. this Corvette is not a dealer auction vehicle. We hand pick each car after careful inspection. Our Corvettes come from owners who expect their cars to go to someone that will give the vehicle the same care and attention as they did. We invite and encourage you to examine the car in person or have the car inspected. Please take the time to scrutinize each picture. We photograph each vehicle to the greatest extent so you can feel confident about your purchase. If you have a question about the Corvette. just give us a call. numbers Please note when checking the numbers that not only do the correct stampings and casting numbers appear on the parts. but all of the dates are also chronologically correct. This means that all of the parts were made and assembled in the correct order. For example. all of the dates for the individual engine components and the engine casting date should obviously precede the assembly date of the engine because the parts had to be produced before they could be assembled. All of the parts I checked follow this rule and are dated correctly. item number description* VIN 194378S408538 The first digit. "1. quot; indicates the Chevrolet division of GM. Colvin's Corvette by the Numbers and Mike Antonick's Corvette Black Book. condition Exterior The Polar White exterior is in stunning condition. As one can see in the photos the finish has dazzling gloss. deep shine. and smooth glass-like finish. There is a receipt for the paintjob in the amount of $7. 36 so it is very high quality. There are no noticeable scratches. scrapes. or cracks in the paint. The chrome and all the other bright work on the car is in very nice condition with a brilliant finish. Both doors open and shut nicely. The wheels are in excellent condition with absolutely no curb rash on the beauty rings. Often Corvettes will have particularly chipped up front ends. this car does not. There are no major blemishes that have been intentionally excluded from the photos. There may be a very faint imperfection around the car that is too small to show up in photos. but nothing that is really noticeable from about five feet away. The frame and everything else on the car is completely solid. I encourage you to inspect the many underside photos to see how truly clean the car is. There are absolutely no rust issues with the car what so ever. The Corvette looks just as good in person as it does in the photos. Window Date Codes Please note that ALL the glass on this Corvette. the "Astro Ventilation" door glass. the removable rear window. and even the windshield are date coded and original as each piece predates the car's body build date of January 8. 1968 (F08). Original glass is a good indication that this car has had no major accident history and never sustained significant damage. Interior The blue interior of the Corvette looks great. The seats look just in person just as they do in the photos. Please note that these appear to the original seats. not some cheap aftermarket covers or replacements. This car was restored with originally in mind so correct and original components that were in good condition were retained. With the low miles on the car much of the interior was in such nice shape it didn’t need replacement. There is a small amount of wear on the passenger seat as one can see in the photos. The carpet is nice condition with no holes or rips. This includes the rear carpet which is often neglected. The front carpet is covered with correct clear plastic Corvette floor mats. The dash and console are in nice condition with no cracking. fading. or sun damage. The radio is correct. original. and actually gets great reception. The door panels are in good condition with no cracks on the arm pads. which is a very common problem on this era Corvette. The jack and jack handle are present and stowed correctly behind the passenger seat. which is pictured below showing the original decals on the compartment lid. One can also see the sound deadening material that has been installed to keep the noise down and the heat out. This car has not been smoked in and there is no aroma of cigarettes whatsoever. Corvette interiors are not known to wear well and the excellent condition of this largely original interior is a testament to the meticulous care this car has received throughout its life. Even very detailed items that are almost always broken or shabby are not on this car; details such as the finger pulls for the rear storage compartment and the fit of the center gauge cluster with the shifter console and down to the parking brake console. The interior looks just as good in person as it does in the photos. Mechanical This This car seems to be in very good mechanical condition. The car starts right away every time. runs well. and idles well. The engine was completely rebuilt less than a few hundred miles ago. The car feels good the road and at highway speeds. In the video below one can observe the car accelerating on the highway up to about 70mph. braking to stoplight. and going through some curves. Please note that it shifts well. there are no strange vibrations. and the car performs quite nice overall. The brakes are manual so they require a bit more pressure to operate; there is a slight pull to the right under hard braking. The transmission shifts well and shifts smoothly. This Corvette has plenty of power and is quite fast. Also. the engine compartment is beautifully clean and detailed as one can see in the photos with the smog system and all of the ignition shielding in place. The horn works as do all the exterior lights. dash lights. turn signal indicators. all gauges (with the obvious exception of the clock). and wipers. The blower works on speeds. and both the seatbelt reminder light and “door ajar” light work. Most of the fiber optics work. The entire vacuum system for the headlights and wiper door works correctly with no effort or binding from both their respective switches on the dash and override switches. The entire operation from both switches can be viewed in the video below. Not enough can be said as to how much of a pleasure it is to drive this car. especially with the T-tops out on a beautiful day. A note on the fiber optic light monitoring system. We consistently receive many questions about the purpose of this system; exactly what it is and what it does. The sole and main idea behind the fiber optic light monitoring system is to simply confirm that all of the exterior lights. headlights. indicators. tail lights. etc. . are working and to make the driver aware of a a burned out bulb. Each lamp on the outside of the car has an actual fiber optic cable the runs to an indicator on the center console. There are nine small indicators on the console and each has its own finer optic cable. When the bulb goes on the light travels through the fiber optic cable and illuminates the corresponding indicator on the console. If someone does not remember to plug the cable end into the lamp housing. does any work to the center console. or if there is a break in a connection or anywhere along the cable. that indicator no longer works. As one can image. over time this is very common. Overall Condition Overall. this 1968 Corvette is in spectacular driver condition. Numbers matching is extremely important in Corvette pricing and as one can see above this car is quite correct. There are photos below of the VIN and date stamps on both the engine block and transmission main case. In my opinion and based on our experience the "Chrome Bumper" cars from 1968-1972 are the most collectible and hottest in the entire Corvette market right now. The value of these cars has gone up exponentially in recent years. They are all solid investments for a collector. The originality. matching numbers. frame off restoration. extensive documentation. and beautiful color combination make this car especially important and difficult to duplicate. There is no way someone could restore a 1968 Corvette to this level of quality for anywhere near our asking price. which is apparent in the amount of money that was spent on the car. While this is not a Bloomington Gold or NCRS Top Flight show car. it is a very well done Corvette at a great value. This Corvette always gets a ton of attention driving down the road. It is very apparent that the vehicle has been well taken care of by its previous owners. The prices of C3 Corvettes have increased drastically over the past years. One could easily enjoy this vehicle for several years and sell it for more than the purchase price with minimal effort.
