I am listing this vehicle for a local private party and will try and answer any questions to the best of ourknowledge. The owners of the car are available to talk with if you are serious about the car. It is also availableto view for inspection at a set time if need be. It does have the original 1957 VIN tag and a clear Missouri title.
VIN # Still On The Frame And Photos To Document That.
This 1957 Corvette is a very nicely restored one. The car has underwent a frame-off restoration several years ago butthe paint and overall condition looks as if it was finished just this past year. Well kept car and always garaged. Same ownerfor the past 20 plus years right here in southwest Missouri. In fact this is the first time the car has ever been offered forsale since that time in the mid 90's. The quality of the restoration was done right and speaks for itself once you see itin person. There are several detailed page listings of all that was done to the car. In fact over $48,000 was spent onrestoration. The paint and body work alone was $12,500. The car looks and is mostly correct except for the engine whichis a 350 target engine including heads according to the paperwork that is with the car. It is a single 4-bbl carburetor. It doeshave a generator and ignition shielding as well. With the exception of the valve covers and fan blade it looks stock. Runs and drives out smoothly. The owner does have a period correct 283 c.i. block and heads that do go with the saleof the corvette. The transmission is a correct date coded powerglide and was rebuilt as well. The restoration work wasdone in Texas and there is names and a phone number to contact in the paperwork. According to the papers includedwith the car the corvette was bought by a senior man and was sent to Belgium and the owner before the restorationwas from Guthrie Oklahoma. Restoration was started in August of 1992 and completed in 1995. As I stated before therestoration looks like from 2016. Still looks fresh even underneath, just some dust from storage over the years. The paint shows no cracks or flaws that I am aware of. It shines well and has no issues. The chrome and all stainlesstrim was redone and still looks nice and fresh. The tooth grill is excellent. The window glass and the chrome and stainlessaround the windshield is still very nice. The windows do roll up and down with ease. The interior was completely redoneand seat belts have been added for safety as those did not come out from the factory in 1957 but mounting provisions were provided for installation by dealers or owners. The instruments were also restored andthe miles showing 3,066 are not actual but since restoration was completed. The original radio is still in the car and the gaugesare the original ones as well. The door panels, carpet, and seats all still look very nice and do not need restoring. In factthe car really does not need much other than some cosmetic detailing and cleaning if you want to take the car to the nextlevel. It is a car you can show and also drive and enjoy if desired. The body fit is about as good as any 1957 I have seenand the doors open and shut with ease. The trunk also fits nicely. The inside of the trunk still has the spare tire and wheelalong with a jack and lug wrench. Alot of the parts on the car came from Corvette Central back in the day. Many of the partswere repainted, refreshed, or even some powdercoated. The frame is still nicely painted and the rebound straps are still underthe rear end of the car. The underside of the body was painted black and the exhaust system was replaced as well. The wiringharnesses were replaced, gas tank cleaned, radiator removed and cleaned, heater core replaced, blower motor rebuilt, softopframe came from Sully's and a new beige top installed, Corvette Clocks by Roger's restored gauges and clock, rebuilt wipermotor from Chicago Corvette, 5 US Royal Whitewall tires, and the list goes on. Several pages of all this is detailed down tothe cost of what was done to the corvette. There are also several photos of this car in the restoration stage and even bodyoff chassis photos. I would overall rate this car at a strong # 2 Condition.
