Car description

1993 Chevy 3500 Turbo Diesel "NO RESERVE"This truck has been a great daily driver and very reliable. It has been well taken care of even though it shows 301. 00 on it. it has a lot more use left in it. There are no leaks in the engine and its dry underneath. No rust and body and interior are still in nice shape. Its getting harder to find these year diesels with the manual injection pump. 94 up went to a PMD unit that really caused a lot of people head aches. The AC and Heater work great and it has new glow plugs in it so it starts pretty nice in the single digit weather. No smoke other than typical cold start. When I got the truck the Transmission had been replaced with a 94' 4L80E. The external harness was replaced to accommodate the newer style internal plug. Anyone familiar with these trucks knows what I am talking about. 91' - 93' Has a different harness internally. Well from my research I have found that the force motor used on the 91-93' models were different than 94' up. The 94' up runs on different ohms than the 91-93' and it is a different color also. I believe this is where the issue I am having with this truck is. It shifts perfect through all the gears smooth and tight with no slippage at all. Once I get up to 3rd and forth gear at cruising speeds I have to basically control the transmission manually with my foot on the throttle. Its kind of like I am controlling the ohm voltage coming from the TPS with my foot. I've got pretty good with it driving it like this. I can drive from Fallon to Reno which is 80 miles from my house and it never has an issue dropping to neutral. Here is what it does:I drive like normal and when cruising at highway speeds if I give too much or not enough throttle it drops straight to neutral. So I just let off the throttle then punch it to catch the passing gear which kicks it into 3rd gear strong with no slipping and then let up to the sweet spot and let it shift back to overdrive and as long as I stay in the sweet spot with my foot it holds. There is a technique you get used to and it works fine. Its kinda like you have to compensate your foot along with the rpms perfectly and it works the way it should. May sound like a pain but really its not. I just want to be honest about the only issue with this truck. I have had the pan off for inspection and there was no material what so ever in the pan with beautiful bright red transmission fluid and no burnt smell at all. While I was in there I noticed the force motor is the Black one and I think it needs the Silver one. I had driven this way for over 2000 miles and kept checking the fluid for burnt smell and discoloration and it stayed the same. So I figured the best way to tell is change the filter and inspect. It looks new inside. 4x4 works great. tires are about 30-40% tread. interior still has a nice smell and it just passed smog. Still has the factory stereo in it with the factory cassette player. Nothing hacked on it anywhere. Windows all work like they should. doors don't sag tailgate opens and closes nice and all gauges work.
