Car description |

Barn Find !I've owned this car since 1981, it was sitting for about 4 or 5 years before I found it and was stripped out and ready to be junked with very few miles on it. I restored it back in the late 80's once and this current restoration began in '92 and here we are 25 years later and 25 years older.
This is a real 1973 Camaro Z-28/ LT 4 speed. I spent over 20 years collecting the best parts off every year'69 to '81Camaros and other GM products. The T-Top roof is off a '79 Z-28, the Mirrored T-Top glass is off a Silver Anniversary Trans Am. The body has been stripped to bare metal and has all Lilly (Amerflint) sealers, primers and 2 gallons of their black paint on every square inch.(that right there should tell you how long it's been sitting) The body has no rust, the floor has a couple of pin holes in about 3 or 4 spots that didn't warrant replacement. The trunk floor was perfect and has been sealed. The rear spoiler has been molded into the body. The body is ready for final paint.
The Rally Sport nose was added, and is all original sheet metal and original urethane nose. The chassis has frame connectors and all original Z-28 sway bars front and rear.
The 4 speed is an M21 with the large output shaft.
The 1969 302 DZ engine is on a stand apart and ready for assembly. Custom sized Eagle Rods, new .030 Federal Mogul Sterling pistons and rings (310P), Crane Roller Cam custom grind by Crane from an old part number. The engine has the original steel crank, the original balancer and has 1.94 heads. I have an Edelbrock old school intake with valve cover spacers, a 3310 Holley and all brackets. The rear end is a 12 bolt 4:11 Posi out of, I believe a GTO, that was converted to leaf springs. The manual steering box has a corvette (quick ratio) worm gear and a heavy duty manual box.
The interior is complete with new door panels from National Parts Depot. All the original black plastic panels are in good shape, just dusty. The dash has the typical warping that I tried to fix 20 years ago, I was going to have it covered in leather this time. I have OEM seals for the doors and T-Tops, and boxes of extra parts and pieces. This was a complete car when I took it apart, you practically won't have to buy anything except for what I listed, every nut and bolt, every piece of trim or bracket is there.
The only parts I can think of that are missing are the front and rear seats, I was going to make it a 2 seater using Porsche 911 seats, The roller lifters and rockers, pushrods, gaskets and timing gear aren't bought yet, those were all items I wanted to be of the latest technology. I do not have a windshield, but all back and side glass is here.
I honestly believe this could be finished first class for less than $5000.
There's really too much stuff to list here so, just give me a call anytime between 8 am and 8 pm for a complete description and any questions. 813-239-3181 Tom
