The engine was rebuilt by Leo Machine in Austin, Texas. Have pictures of rebuild, all receipts of parts used. Connecting rod/piston assemblies balanced to within 1 gram. Engine runs strong (hits 70 MPH in 2nd gear), and runs cool, even in Texas.
Car was restored by UJ Backus of Manor Texas. He is well known for restoring cars to Top Flight NCRS and Bloomington standards, he used all correct materials and paints for the frame and entire suspension. Paint is outstanding and is lacquer, like Chevrolet used in 1967.
This car drives as new. No rattles, no unusual noises. Steering box rebuilt, new rag joint, new upper and lower steering column bearings. Shifter is solid, synchros working, can downshift into 1st at 35 MPH.
Odometer shows 60,000; this is 160,000 total since new, but only about 1,000 since full restoration. Video at youtube.com/watch?v=41HfJJlr1y4
Have hundreds of photos of engine rebuild and restoration.
