I bought this trucklocally from a guy I worked with years ago and I originally bought itto build but after a month of thinking about it here it is 1953 Chevrolet 5 window very unique and has excellent TEXAS PATINA that I just sprayed 3 coats of clear on it that made it really stand out and it will now protect the body for many more years. When I found this truck it was a stored away barn find that still has good cab corners which is hard to find and the body doesn't have any rust other then that little strip on the passenger middle part of the bed where most of them always rust and passenger side hood has little spot around the 3100 badge and the back passenger fender has that crack that was tacked up and that otherspot on the bottom of fender. This truck is extremely solid including the floorpan I only see that one spot on the drivers side where the two pieces meet, these few little spots are so simple to fix if you even want to most people leave little stuff like this for character and to look more like a farm truck. All the glass is in the truck and the drivers vent glass is the only one that has cracks. This truck still has the original bumpers not all bent up. The running boards are in really nice shape and the original seat is still in the truck I just thru a indian blanket on it. This truck only shows 77,050 on the odometer which is not bad at all. The truck still has the 6 cylinder in it and the guy I bought it from said it was running fine but the tranny went out so they pulled it and was going to swap one out and ended buying a new truck and rolled it in the barn. I have a good tranny I just pulled out of a running truck that I pulled it to put a automatic in so I have a tranny that comes with the truck. Everything else is still connected to the back of the motor they only disconnected the tranny so it should be a easy swap. I would assume if someone did the tranny, tune up,gas tank, battery and etc they probably could have a cool truck to cruise around in. I just put a new stained wood floor in and put 3 coats of clear on it. I have a CLEAR TEXAS TITLE to this truck!!! I was going to do a fuel-injection V8 swap with over-drive and air conditioning so I could drive it daily and advertise my shop with it and make it a nice tax right off but I started another one first so Im going to let this one go. I will probably never find a cooler color of green that couldn't be any more perfect but it is what it is. If you took this and had someone spray it to look like this it would cost over6 grand so your saving this one is done. I put some used tires on it just to hold air and painted them white just to give it a cool look until I got it running then I was going to order new ones! Overall this will make someone a really cool truck to cruise around and enjoy, father kid project, or what ever it is you want to do with it. This truck has one of the best patina looks that Ive seen yet. If your looking for a good solid Texas truck don't let this pass its one of the best out there.
