Car description

If Chevelles are your drug this car is Crack. This car has been off the road since 1978 when the owner blew the motor racing a Mustang (he still won).Odometer shows64k. It’s a real “138” code SS396 and it’s a real red/red bucket seat, 4 speed, console car. Still has its original “CW” code 3:31 12 bolt rear end. The orig engine is gone and now has a "EF" 360 hp 396 out of a 66 Chevelle 4 spd car with the rare cast iron Holley intake and backed up by a 4 speed transmission. I don’t know anything about the motor other than it spins (not locked up). The car is pretty complete so you wont be hunting for a lot of parts. I don’t have the front bumper, radiator or carb. The body on the car is extraordinarily solid in some places and needing work in others. I have taken pics of the common trouble places so bidders can see exactly what they are bidding on. The car still wears most of its original paint. Both door hinge areas (side cowl) look brand new. The rockers are as nice as I have seen. The hood, lower grill support, grill, Rh inner and outer fender are brand new AMD (it was being parted out when I found it). The orig LH fender is very nice with no rust down low. The deck lid has a couple dents but is not rusty and fits good. The doors have no rust but both have had whiskey dents repaired. Both rear quarters have whiskey dents and had a little rust down low behind the wheel. I cut it out so I could clean and inspect the trunk drop offs. They are pitted but still good. I wire brushed them and sprayed them with some rust killer and primer. The quarters could be reworked or reskinned. The trunk floor cleaned up pretty good and is very solid with only a few pin holes. The rear tail light panel and wheel houses have no rust at all. The firewall is solid with no rust anywhere. The interior needs seat covers, carpet, door panels and headliner but amazingly the dash pad and steering wheel have NO CRACKS! Probably a result of it being parked in ’78. All the glass is good except front windshield and all windows roll up and down good. Most of the chrome trim is also with the car and in pretty good shape. The floor pans are by far the worst part of the car and they will need work with the biggest hole behind drivers seat. The frame is straight and solid. No rust thru anywhere. The original console is nice and the door still closes good. Someone took the glove box door but I have a replacement. I also have the orig shifter, shifter rods, rocker mouldings, charcoal canister, alt bracket, crank pulley, tire iron, arm rests and a small box of misc parts.

I have done my best to describe this car but there is no accounting for individual taste. As usual winning bid is NOT an invitation to inspect but a legally binding contract to purchase. This car is available for inspection any time prior to auction ending. I urge any interested parties to either inspect car themselves or send someone to act as their agent. YOU WIN THE AUCTION I EXPECT YOU TO PAY FOR THE CAR. This car is sold without warranty. 20% non-refundable down pymt due3 days after auction end. Vehicle must be picked up within 3 weeks or storage charges will apply.

Don't bother emailing me with pointless questions like "what is least you will take for it"? (I want the most I can get, duh!) or "what is your reserve"?

If your a serious buyer make me a serious offer or just bid on it.

WHATEVER YOU DO DONT BID ON IT IF YOU CANT COMMIT. I don't have time or patience for buyers who back out after they have won the auction and outbid other parties who may actually want the car.
