Car description |

This 1960 Chevrolet Biscayne comes with a list of freshly restored and replaced equipment so long, it would probably be easier to just tell you what isn't new. The photos speak for themselves, but this is one of those rare cars that is actually even better in person than it appears in photos, and with a brand new crate GM350 and a TH400 automatic transmission, the best view is probably from behind the wheel.
The restoration looks really expensive, and it starts with the gorgeous Raven Black PPG paint. There is nothing subtle about it, and the high quality of the body and paint speaks very loudly. The wide-finned 1960 styling is a slam-dunk as far as we are concerned, giving the Biscayne some real swagger on the street and an upscale look that should appeal to everyone. Fit and finish are exemplary, with some of the best gaps we've seen on one of these cars, and a shine that's as deep as the Grand Canyon. Those are some of the biggest quarter panels in automotive history, and they show straight enough to calibrate NASA's instruments. The Biscayne is the best way to show off a laser straight body without all the pesky trim that gets in the way like on the Impala. This car screams “Look at me!”
Full-sized luxury cars with buckets and consoles might be a bit more common, but the bench seat and simple dashboard of this beauty is all business. Then, of course, there is the automatic shifter mounted right to the floor. Wearing fresh seat covers in correct patterns and colors, the beautifully finished interior looks fresh and bright thanks to the airy Biscayne bodywork. The big, skinny steering wheel seems right for a heavy cruiser like this, and the wide instrument panel covers the basics. Everything else you can touch inside this car is new, including the door panels, door hardware, headliner, and the rubber mats atop the fresh carpets. Back seat space is commodious, so grab some buddies and head out for some fun, and the trunk, as you'd imagine, is gigantic and includes a reproduction mat to make it look clean.
This was originally a 6 cylinder car, but the 350 V8 in there now looks so right, and brings so much horsepower to the party, that you'll quickly forget any matching-numbers nonsense. The appropriately sized 4-barrel carb feeds the strong-running engine, and there's a big aluminum radiator up front to keep it cool. This engine performs like new, and it should considering it only has about 3,000 miles on the clock.
The underside shows very well, and is as tidy as the rest of the car. Factory steel wheels with baby moon hubcaps and brand new BFGoodrich Silvertown Redline Radials really fill the big wheel arches.
You couldn't possibly restore this car to this level for twice the asking price, making this big 60’s Biscayne a big bargain, too.
