I have one too many projects. so something has to go! This is a ’72 Vega Panel Express (it’s a true panel not a wagon conversion) that has been extensively modified. The rear sub carries a C2 Corvette disc brake IRS and it has been min-tubbed. It has a custom fuel cell that fits in the sub-frame beneath the load floor. Two weight boxes were also built into the load floor at the rear. The front has been converted to discs. but I’m not sure if they are S-10 spindles. or something else. Also. the steering is handled by a rack and pinion that might be either a Chevette or Pinto unit. It has a 350 SBC that is supposed to be a 4 bolt main. The casting numbers show it could be a 2 or 4 bolt. so I can’t say for sure as I’ve never had the pan off. Has double hump heads. a 650 double pumper Holley on a Torker manifold. and a Unilite distributor with a tach drive. Trans is a THM 400 with a 2200 stall converter. The engine and trans are strong. but are not set-up correctly for the street. The cam in the car does not warrant the high stall converter. and the Torker single plane intake is a poor street choice. The trans has some leaks. and the engine oil pan is dented. I was planning to pull the engine and trans out to detail the powertrain and engine compartment. change the pan. intake. converter and reseal the trans. The car comes with the oil pan. converter. intake manifold. and gasket/reseal sets for the engine and trans. All the parts are new. Additionally. I wasn’t crazy about the headers in the car. so a new set in the box is also included. All new door/hatch locks have been installed. and the ignition lock is broken. but a new unit with 2 keys is also included. I sourced some mint black door panels. and almost all the plastic interior trim. Some need to be sprayed black with SEM. but it’s all there. Also have a nice dash pad (not perfect - has 1 hairline split). Also found the GM sport mirrors – remote on L/S and non-remote on the right with mounting brackets and gaskets. The mirrors are correct for the Vega and mount with a single screw through the base and are very hard to find. I also sourced a GT dash housing and cluster that has been refinished. detail painted. and modified to house 3 3/8” inch main gauges and 2 1/16” secondary gauges. It has a new headlight switch. nos washer switch and washer pump already installed. The gauges are to show how the dash looks. but they ARE NOT included in the auction. The dash will come just as shown. ready for whatever gauges you chose to install. I have another straight rear bumper. as well as another set of ‘cut’ fronts. Also have a new fiberglass reproduction rear valance and front chin spoiler that is included too. The prior owner (or some prior owner) installed some tacky white shag carpet in the entire interior that degraded into a bio hazard. I ripped most of it out. and what looks like rust is the dried contact cement on the aluminum panels in the rear. The cement is older than dirt and flaking off. so a quick once over with a zip pad and the aluminum with be ready for dynamat and carpet. I haven’t found any rust in the car (other than some surface rust here and there) which is amazing for an H-body. It looks to have been an Arizona/California car all its life. so it’s just about as solid as you’ll ever hope to find. I haven’t started any restoration work. so the car starts. steers. brakes. and drives fine for transport. It’s not street ready. so it WILL need to be transported. The car has a clean. clear Arizona title that matches the dash mounted VIN. as well as the door tag VIN. The Vega panels are very. very rare. This is a very unique build that include most of what you’ll need to get it back on the road without breaking the bank. Look at the pictures carefully and ask all your questions prior to bidding. Please check with your significant other. your spiritual advisor. your neighbor. your parole officer. or that little voice in your head before you bid (if you hear more than one voice. please don’t bid). Scammers that want to overpay with a bank check are encouraged to give it a shot – the comedic value is priceless. A $500. 00 deposit is required via Paypal immediately. If the deposit is not received within 24 hours of auction close. the car MAY be offered to the next highest bidder. The balance is payable in cash. or wire transfer within 5 days of auction close. Vehicle needs to be picked up within 2 weeks of auction close. and is transported at buyer’s expense. The car is located in VENTURA. CALIFORNIA 93003. All funds must clear my bank before the vehicle leaves without exception. Should go without saying but…. the vehicle is sold AS IS. WHERE IS. and is without warranty of ANY kind. Only you can determine if it is suited for your intended use. and there are no returns or refunds under any circumstances. You win it. you own it. Thanks for taking a look. and Happy Bidding!
