Car description

This auction is for a 1957 chevy 210. . This car has had a partial restoration that is now 5 years old. To start with the body was sandblasted but NOT removed from the frame. Once the car was sandblasted. The floor panels were replaced and some small rust holes fixed in the trunk area. There was some rust on the rockers and lower front fenders that had also been repaired. There was some filler work done before the car was sprayed in primer. The car is a two tone blue color. The larger portion of the blue body color carries to the inside of the car on the dash and garnish moldings and the dash insert for the gauges was painted to match the roof. The floor was coated in a rubber truck liner in hopes of keeping rust away in the future. The fender wells. core support and splash apron were painted a satin black. ALL of the chrome was replaced. Not redone. Replaced. The stainless trim on the side was straightened and slightly polished. ALL of the wiring in the car was replaced with the exception of the wiring ON the wiper motor (Which right now is not working) this includes the tail light sockets. blinker sockets. headlight plugs. batt cables and blinker switch. The ignition switch is a new proper 57 piece with new keys and headlight switch is also a correct 57 piece with a new bezel. Every bulb in the car was replaced. There is an alternator in place of the generator to assist in the newer wiring. The factory radio is not installed in the dash but it is IN the car and will be sent along with it for the buyer do with at their discretion. There is a working radio installed BELOW the dash to avoid cutting it up. with new speakers and wires. The motor is a rebuilt 265 with fewer than 700 miles on it. The trans is a 3 speed column shift with a rebuilt column and shift linkages and a new clutch with a new throw out bearing. The carburetor is a new carb with an electric choke. The factory oil bath air cleaner is still in use. New exhaust including flanges all the way out the back. Designed as it was factory and muffled to be quiet as it was in 57. The ignition system was upgraded with a points eliminator kit and a higher output coil. The cap. rotor. plugs and wires are new. The battery is new. In place of the factory air system is a vintage air system. Works well. Needs a charge soon. The switch for the operation of the system is backwards as in. hot is cold. cold is hot as if it was mislabeled. The radiator was cleaned out and tested. The rad hoses are new. Fuel pump is new. The fuel tank was cleaned out and coated with a new sending unit installed. The fuel gauge reads a bit off. When it reads just under a 1/4 tank it is empty. The filler neck O ring was replaced while the tank was out. The brakes are the factory drum brakes and were upgraded with a power booster setup and split master cylinder. The front bearing went from ball bearings to an upgraded needle bearing hub. The shoes were all replaced along with the hardware and the rotors turned. Hoses replaced as well. There is also a newer set of white walls on the car. 14 inch wheels. ALL of the glass is new. ALL of the seals for the glass (EXCEPT the quarter windows cause we could NOT find new ones but they are still in good shape with no cracks) and weather stripping is new as well. The regulator on the r/r may need replaced or the handle. It seems stripped but we have not taken the door apart and investigated. For the interior. the door panels were replaced with new panels. The seats were recovered with some new cotton underneath. Carpet was replaced in the cab and in the trunk. New headliner. New wind lace. The kick panels and package tray appear to have some water damage and the carpet on the pass side front has a stain although we are not sure from what cause he car has been parked for long periods of time. And that is the story. The owner had the car rebuilt. Drove it a few times. Had it stored more often than driven. The car is NOT perfect. but is pleasant to drive. Not fast. but good for a nice sunday afternoon cruise. One last time. the restoration is 5 years old. The car is not perfect. Lots of things were replaced and upgraded when the car was done. It was NOT off of the frame. Any and all problems known about the car. are listed above. IF you need more pictures. feel free to ask and I will send those to you ASAP
