Car description |
---|
Up for consideration is a 1956 Chevrolet Corvette. Traditional Venetian Red with Ivory coves comes with the correct 265 HP engine and three-speed manual transmission. Serial number E56S002700 with an approximate production date of May 30, 1956. Exact Mileage is unknown. I have owned and enjoyed this car for 16 years but it’s time to pass it along. This car is very correct with numbers matching except for the distributor which I have and will be included. It does have an oil filter adapter so newer technology oil filters can be used. The battery is not a Delco Tar-Top and the wind shield wiper motor has not been restored but is correct and I do have the correct washer fluid bag (not installed). It has the correct one-year only 1956 hard top and a black convertible soft-top. The car has factory power windows, and the correct instrument panel. The wonder bar radio is in the car but the accompanying power pack is in a box and has not been tested. For me, the joy and fun of owning this car was driving it. Always a head turner, you will be proud to pop the hood and show this car at the local cruise in. The heads have been restored and the dual four-barrel carbs were restored in the fall of 2016 by Chuck Smith. A new gas tank was installed when the carbs were and only non-ethanol fuel has been used since. The wheel rims are NOS and have been powder coated the corresponding Venetian Red. The tires are Coker Classic radials. The spare tire is a Firestone bias ply. No jack. As you can see from the photos, frame caps have been installed on the rear of both sides and there are several small rust areas. The car is a nice driver that presents very well, is fun to drive, proud to show and reasonably priced. If you are looking for a Museum Car or NCRS Top Flight, this car is not for you. Please contact me with any questions or if you need additional photos. This vehicle is being sold as is, where is, with no warranty expressed, written or implied.
