Car description |
---|
This is a 1970 Monte Carlo that was converted into a convertible many years ago. It was done with Chevelle/Malibu parts. Convertible top functions as it should with power.
It has power brakes, power steering, Turbo 350, A/C, buckets and console.
Underneath it has new tires, new brakes, suspension redone(springs & shocks) all by last owner. Underhood it is all clean and even belt for A/C is on compressor(but I have not tried to operate). Has new carb and was updated to electronic ignition.
What does it need: Inside needs dash pad(cracks) and carpet. Seats and door panels are really nice. Outside needs convertible top, body work redone where Malibu parts was grafted in(bondo has cracked). Drivers door jamb has rust(so I would replace full 1/4 panel), drivers side rear floor(rust but not broken thru) and trunk floor(some rust spots/holes). Mechanically it needs ignition key lock/shift lock adjusted so they both lock at same time. Currently when shifted to park I must manually rotate lower steering column to get ignition key to lock and remove. Needs a radio of some sort. Has a spare and lug wrench but no jack.
I also have all lower body moldings. They are off and in storage. I also have rust free replacement doors.
Currently this Monte is registered and insured and is street driveable. I go around town from time to time just to get reactions. People that know Monte Carlos know the factory never produced such a vehicle.
I have a reserve and will not disclose it. Bid to win if you want it. Feel free to come by in Lexington Kentucky if you wish to see in person.
Some of the pics are from last owner and some are updated from me.
If you have less than 10 as a feedback we must talk on phone before I will allow your bid to remain. I will delete bids that don't follow this simple request.
Why am I selling you might ask? Well a good question. I just bought a 1966 Mustang Fastback and do not need 2 projects at the same time. My driveway is only so big and already have several complete cars in my garages. If it does not sell then I will keep and transfer to storage facility where Mustang is currently kept. Otherwise I will keep it.
It is also for sale locally and I reserve the right to end auction early if item sells.
Lastly, a deposit(non-refundable) must be sent by PAYPAL within 48 hours. Full payment in 7 days. No personal checks. If you win the bid you own it, not a right to inspect after that. I will report to ebay buyers who cannot follow simple rules.
There is no hurry to move at end of auction and I will leave in driveway for up to 30 days. After that you need to make arrangements to move. Will assist in loading if you hire a carrier.
