Car description

This may arguably be the rarest and most original 1987 short wheel base Silverado in existence. eBay did not offer R10 as a model option but we all know these trucks as C10's and 87 was the first year the "R" was used in place of the "C".No amount of pictures or videos will do this beauty justice. You MUST see it in person to really appreciate the originality and overall amazing condition. It truly is a time capsule and is in near mint condition inside and out. For those of you who are not aware, this is a one year only truck. 1987 was the last year Chevrolet made the single cab square body trucks but it was also the first year they introduced the T.B.I. (Throttle Body Injection) in place of the carburetors that were used in years past. The T.B.I. offers much better performance, fuel mileage, and most of all.....no adjusting is needed like the old school carbs. This "Unicorn" as I like to call it is not only in amazing condition but it is also loaded with all the desirable options such as power windows, power locks, cruise control, rear slider, bed rails, and don't forget the 5.7L small block 350 and 700R4 overdrive transmission versus the more common 305 small block and TH350 three speed automatic transmission. In my opinion I believe this is also one of the best color combinations Chevrolet offered back in 1987.
The belts, hoses, and heater core had all been replaced by the previous owner but I actually have all the original parts that will go with the truck. The tires were also replaced with a slightly larger size and it looks like someone added the knock offs to the center caps. I just replaced both low beam headlights since one was out but I also kept the original headlights. Other than the items I just listed above it looks to be 100% original. I cannot see any signs of restoration, paint work, interior work, etc. The body is factory straight, absolutely ZERO rust, undercarriage looks amazing, has no leaks of any kind, and the bed liner has probably been in the truck since new. Everything on the truck works as it should excluding the radio. The radio turns on, lights up as it should, but I cannot seem to get reception.
I am not a dealer and merely just a private party that has been buying and selling Chevy's over the last 20 years. I stopped using eBay some time ago as it was easier just to list my available vehicles locally, however in this case I feel this "Unicorn" really deserves to be seen by more than just folks in my area of Dallas, TX.
I consider this truck to be an investment and not a daily driver. We have all seen what the 60's and 70's original numbers matching low mileage classics are bringing and this truck will be no exception if it is kept in its original condition with the low miles. I hope that the truck ends up in someone's personal collection or even at a museum where others could enjoy seeing it.
Please feel free to ask any questions. I will also be happy to provide pictures and/or videos upon request. I do have the truck listed locally and reserve the right to cancel this listing at anytime as long as the reserve has not already been met. Thank you and good luck!!
