Description

Starts, runs, stops.

Mulch in bed does not convey with truck, but the tarp will. This truck personifies the old GM maxim that GM vehicles will run badly longer than other vehicles will run. So... it starts (even after sitting idly for weeks), it shifts, it stops. It does all of these things adequately and safely.

Other than that, assume that nothing else works and you won't be disappointed.

No, really, nothing else works. Anything that appears to work just isn't getting with the program.

Also, it has body rust (see pictures) and the interior is somewhere between "dirty" and "disreputable."

It's on eBay and not Craigslist because buying a $500 (+ or -) truck should be treated like an arranged marriage. You'd pass it by if you were to see it in person, but if you buy it sight unseen you'll just make it work.

I bought it to move Large Things and mulch, and once I shovel three yards of hardwood double-hammered mulch out of the bed, it will be surplus to my needs. It has new windshield wipers, a Haynes repair manual and ½ tank of gas, which between them account for about 20% of the truck's value. The tires (just 4, no spare) are round and have tread and do a passable job of holding air. It doesn't appear to leak anything important, and does not leave a convoy-escorttype ofsmokescreen behind it. It smokes at start-up on general principle. Driving it is like riding an old horse, only slightly smellier.

But by golly it can carry a lot of stuff.

So, if you need something big and dumb and that has the charm and sophistication normally found in Cold War era Russian mining equipment, and that will eventually drive itself to the junkyard, then "Rusty" is for you. It's a great truck
