1977 Chevrolet Silverado
This truck was special ordered in Redding, California and resided there until I bought it from the second owner 17 years ago. I've never seen another short step side with a factory 454. It's quite a conversation piece that your friends and peers are going to love. Built in the Fremont, Ca. Factory with a 454, Air Conditioning, Cruise Control, Cargo Light, TH400 transmission and no Catalytic Converters. This was the last year for passenger trucks to not have cats on the big V8s. F44 Heavy Duty Chassis package has GVWR 6050 LBS. This package also has larger front and rear brakes than the standard C-10. I can't guarantee it'll pass a smog test, but I see no reason it wouldn't. As you can see, it is about as original as they get for a 40 year old pick up. It's gone 189,000 miles and still has life left. Always maintained but not babied, it has been used as a truck. We've hauled and towed hundreds of loads and it's ready to keep working or pampered up and made into a show vehicle. Passenger side cab corner has some rot on the outside skin. Inside seems solid. Floors, rockers and fenders are original and appear to be rust free except one little spot on the rocker inside, under driver's door as seen in photo. Doors were painted before I got it a long time ago and might have some Bondo in them. The rest of the paint appears to be original. Custom striping done by Bill Scott of Nor Cal Custom Trim has seen better days but still has the retro appeal. Wood in bed has been replaced withDouglas Firbut needs one board to be replaced again. Everything works except the dash lights and the factory clock. Both fuel tanks work with factory switch, gauges work but when the tanks are full they are a little lazy so the first 50 miles they do do much moving. Grill has been broken near the hood release and glued back together. I will include a used factory grill for replacement although it is a darker grey in color, from a 76 Chevy. Rear bumper is a step and tow which is not original as it came with a chrome rear to match the front.I just drove it 400 miles round trip to Portland and it used one quart of oil.Transmission leaks if it sits for more than a week. If you drive it regularly it doesn't seem to leak. Runs, drives and idles as it should with original carburetor and air filter housing. You are welcome and encouraged to come take a look in person. I'll even buy you lunch if you like Mexican food. Drive this baby home as the air conditioning cools your jets. It's ready to tow your car or haul your bike home to wherever you may reside. Tires are good to go and spare is under bed in original place. Jack and lug wrench are under hood as it was when new. Buyer will be responsible for picking up vehicle in Myrtle Point, Oregon 97458. Once paid in full I can store for up to 60 days. Please contact me for more info or photos. I can be reached @ 541.572.1080 Don
