1969 CHEVROLET CAMARO LS1 6 SPEED PRO TOURING VINTAGE AIR P/S PROTECT-O PLATE 4 WHEEL DISC BRAKES
This 1969 Chevrolet Camaro started out as a still registered California black plate standard coupe 307 3-speed manual, 4 wheel drum car.I have the original protect-o plate, original pre delivery inspection sheet, and original owner’s manual. The body was in great shape and I was able to drive the car home after I purchased it in 2008. From there the car was put on a rotisserie stripped down to metal, sealed inside and out, undercoated, and finished with Du Pont Chroma system in Honda polished metal metallic with black Z28 stripes.
The sheet metal is all original minus a new trunk pan, GM restoration parts 2” cowl induction hood and a Detroit Speed & Engineering smooth firewall panel. Every part, bracket, inner fenders, frame, differential, control arm, radiator support, headlamp bucket, etc has been POWDER COATED semi gloss black. All of the original trim pieces have been professionally restored and polished and reused on the car. The front windshield, rear windshield, and door glass were all replaced and there is a minor chip in the front windshield. New mirrors, door handles, spoilers, lights, lenses, bumpers, weather stripping, grill, body hardware, etc is all new. The majority of these pieces are all made by Trim Parts. The car operates and drives like a modern 1969 Camaro. All the normal car functions are there and 100% operable, lights, wipers, horn, A/C, P/S, stereo, e-brake, signals, even reverse lamps, dash indicators, functional check engine light, dual electric fans controlled by the ECU and the a/c trinary switch, ECU controlled fuel pump.
Drive Train: 2004 all aluminum LS1 with 14k mile, f-body accessory drive, Comp cams Big Mutha Thumpr cam (p/n 635460211), LS6 intake manifold, dyno tuned, 2002 f-body Tremec T56 6 speed transmission, Hurst Short throw sport shifter. 8.5” 10-bolt, Eaton limited slip, 4.10:1 Richmond gears, all new seals, bearings and powder coated housing.
Brakes: Front 97-2004 Corvette dual piston aluminum calipers, 13” rotors, Hawk ferro carbon pads. Rear 93-97 LT1 f-body calipers single piston aluminum calipers, integrated parking brake, 12” rotors. Disc/disc corvette master cylinder, 8” dual diaphragm booster, adjustable proportioning valve, braided stainless front and rear lines, all new 3/16 hard lines front to back.
INTERIOR: All new standard door panels, handles, trim pieces, armrests, added power windows, new procar elite seats with matching rear cover, new dash pad, new headliner, sail panels, loop carpet. Detroit speed & engineering dash insert with Autometer sport comp II LED gauges, electronic vintage air control, leather sport steering wheel, custom rear deck with flush mounted speakers, new sill plates, leather shift boot, vintage air glove box, new a/c vents, double layered Fatmat sound deadener on the floor firewall and inner roof. Powder coated pedal assembly, new pedal pads. New center console with navigation and upgraded sound center. Hertz speakers and sub.
WHEELS: American Racing Torq Thrust II classics CL205. Front 18 x 8 245/40R18 Nitto 555, Rear 18 x 9.5 275/35R18 Nitto 555
ELECTONICS: modified e-z wiring 21 circuit harness modified to accommodate vintage air a/c, Detroit speed wipers, dual electric fans for the engine and a/, ECU controlled fuel pump and fans. A lot of time was put into the electronics to make everything run and operate like a new car. The only switches are used for the wipers, and lights. Vintage air electronic 3 know controls, OBDIIport, etc
SUSPENSION: Front – powder coated frame, Global west upper control arms with del-a-lum bushings, powder coated lower arms also with del-a-lum bushings, Hotchkis 2” sport springs, 1 1/4 “ sway bar. Rear – Hotchkis sport leaf springs, KYB shocks all around, Global West weld in sub frame connectors, Global West aluminum interlocking body/frame mounts.
FUEL: Rick’s Hot Rod Stainless 18 gallon fuel tank with in-tank pump, 97-2004 corvette fuel filter/regulator, stainless braided lines, all –AN fittings.
COOLING: AFCO 1969 Camaro LS conversion radiator with AFCO shroud and fan. Vintage air high capacity condenser 12” auxiliary fan for a/c.
AIR CONDITIONING: Vintage air gen 4 evaporator, Detroit speed & engineering gen 4 bracket, anodized black 3 knob electronic controls, anodized black firewall inline firewall bulkhead. Vintage air supplied Sanden 508 compressor, KWIK performance top mount compressor bracket.
EXHAUST: Dynatech 1 7/8” ceramic coated long tubes, x-pipe, 2.5” pipes, flowmaster 40 series mufflers.
