Car description |
---|
This is my low mileage survivor 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Split Window Coupe with RARE Factory AC and 4spd. This car is a true survivor. I purchased this car from the daughter of the 3rd owner. She told me her father had passed away and the car sat in his dry home garage in dry California storage for over 30 years. This Corvette was sold new at Kent Chevrolet in Arcadia, California verified by NCRS with gold seal document which is photographed and stayed in California its entire life of 53 years until I purchased it from his daughter. It still has her dads California license plates and I have many of his California registrations over the years as seen in the photos. I will guarantee any Corvette collector that it has its original motor that came in the car at birth 1963. I will also guarantee this car was a Rare one of 278 factory AC cars from day one 1963. I will also guarantee that it has never been hit with a virgin body. The frame is exactly the way it came form the factory and has never been touched or painted and its all original unmolested. The frame and bird cage are spotless rust free and paper smooth and the finest in original condition you will ever find. Yes the underside and motor compartment look dirty however they have never been cleaned or detailed. That would be an easy task. I like the appearance unmolested survivor look with day one patina. I have great documentation from the original owners. This car has low mileage 77432. All gauges are in perfect working order. The motor was completely rebuilt just before the owners passing and has very low mileage less than 1000 miles. When I got this car after 30 plus years of storage I took the car to an NCRS judge and started its journey back to life. The carburetor and all spark plugs were removed after 30 years before the motor was touched without starting. Marvel Mystery Oil was then used and the motor was turned over by hand for fresh lubrication and it turned over by hand perfectly. The carburetor was professionally rebuilt. Then I put on a new, gas tank, fuel sending unit, fuel pump, water pump, thermostat, belts, hoses, wires, plugs, ballast resistor, air filter, fresh oil filter and fresh oil. The radiator was back flushed with all new coolant. The motor fired up the first turn of the ignition and ran like it was just put away the day before. It truly runs like brand new with no smoke, nice and clean. From there I spent nearly $10,000 and purchased all 5 new radial tires which still have the new blue on them, All new brakes complete, brake shoes on all four wheels, all four wheel cylinders, master cylinder, all brake rubber hoses, All new power rubber steering hoses, new dual exhaust complete, brand new fuel gauge and new fluids, Rebuilt gauges, speedo, odometer, half shaft universal with new gear lube. Just too much to list. I also purchased all new Al Knock seat cushions with new seat covers, new Al knock show room door panels, arm rests, center console, and Corvette floor mats. The carpets are all in excellent condition. This car runs and drives excellent with no rattles or shakes, shifts like new with new clutch throw bearing and pressure plate. All the window glass is very high grade original condition. I have the original Corvette radio from 1963 as seen in the photos. Her dad put in a am-fm cassette player which lights up but I can't get it to play. If you are looking for a truly unmolested RARE survivor split window with RARE AC with gorgeous color combination of silver blue with Daytona blue interior you just found it. This car has never been off the frame and is nice and tight driving unlike most off frame restored cars that lose that nice tight integrity the way the car was originally built. The paint and chrome look beautiful. I think all the chrome bumpers and stainless are 1963 original. The paint looks incredible with nice high gloss and no stress cracks anywhere. Its decades old paint that was done decades ago resprayed at some point however looks incredible in real life.. The carpets look very nice. I was told that there are less then 5 1963 Corvette Silver Blue split windows with factory AC and 4spd transmission. This car has the original 327-250 HP motor from new 1963. I have taken many photos for you Corvette experts in macro photography of the engine stamping and date codes for your viewing. This car was always taken care of and is in beautiful collector car condition. Check out all the weather stripping it still looks like new.
Too much to list!! I have taken many photos for your viewing. Tons of receipts to document all the work I just did with less than 50 miles driven since. Truly a beautiful old split window that you can get in and drive with no headaches. Everything has been all sorted out mechanically. The headlights go up and down like new, nice and fast with no issues. I did not address the AC and did not want to put an AC belt on the motor. I hate to run stress on the motor with an extra belt when I never use the AC. The new owner can address the AC if he or she chooses with new Freon and regular maintenance with new belt.
