: 1950 Chevrolet Short bed 1/2 ton truck. Still wired as a 6 volt, 4 speed manual trans/floor shift. Truck was shipped to me from Oregon and still retains that title. We removed the cab/bed to clean the 100% rust free frame and coat it in POR. Under the cab was undercoated as well but very solid. Only the the lower cabs show some rust but the rest of the truck is solid. Paint was removed many years ago and gave this truck that perfect look most people are paying/looking for. Straight 6 runs/drives nice and surprisingly starts right up. clutch grabs nice. Engine has a crack though and it remains that way because we were not sure if we wanted to replace, repair or go more modern. I like this truck because its more original then most, I have a 235 out of my Apache that I will include for local pick up only guys. We went LS with that truck but that engine ran great as well. Cooker tires, brakes, "Mild low" suspension are all new. Engine runs off a jug only because its easier to work with until we decide what we are doing. Tank is still in place and functional. Needs TLC as you can tell but a lot of hard work has been performed and $ has been spent. Glass is all there but some should be replaced. |
