Up for your bid is the very cool styled rare 25th Anniversary 1978 Corvette. I have not owned very long and then lost my job of 35 years - so gotta get rid of some projects and things I cannot get to nor afford any more. This car has a clean Texas title in my name with current registration. Located in Dale Texas about 30 miles south of Austin in the country.
I bought this car and haven't gotten around to doing much on it. The motor is the L82 Chevy 350. It has a bad rod knock and needs to be rebuilt. It does run and could load up a trailer but I would not run it too much in fear of doing any more damage to the engine. You may get away with just a crank kit but unknown what damage may be in there. I have not verified anything but was told it was all original and numbers matching. Motor and engine bay look nice and clean and unmolested.
Body is doggone excellent considering it is almost a 40 year old car. The paint is pretty good over all but it is thinning in places and has numerous front tiny chips in the paint, - but I see no fiberglass damage, no stress marks and the urethane nose and spoilers are not damaged, not very warped nor torn. Body panels fit well and doors shut very good. T-tops are cracked very badly. Correct mirrored type but I haven't even tried to remove them.
Interior has a cracked dash but it isn't hideous and ugly nor missing chunks. Leather seats are needing reupholstering but mainly the drivers seat is the worst and worn and missing material. Driver's door panel is worn on the top and needs repairs or replacement. Carpet in rear not so good. Some normal wear and tear and little repairs needed thru out the interior. Over all the interior would be very presentable with just seats recovered and the one door panel fixed or replaced.
Wheels and tires look good. Wheels look pretty good for their age. They still have fair chrome, paint and not much damage thru the years at all to be 39 years old. Tires have good tread of at least 50% or better and hold air fine.
Honestly do not know much about this car but only driving a few feet the transmission works fine and the brakes do work fine as best I can tell. Has good exhaust system as best I can tell as well. Best I can tell the car appears original and stock and not modified (except the Accell HEI coil).
Car must be transported by trailer. Payment must be paid in full within 10 days after end of auction.I required a $500 deposit within 48 hours of the auction ending.Once paid for first you can have up to 30 days to pick up the car.
Not too interested in selling off eBay. Too many deals were people do not come thru and pay. I end up waiting and waiting and wasting time while bills are due.
Please do not pester me about price and no long drawn out phone calls with offers of trades, deals, payment plans, waiting for a check stories and low ball offers. Please do not waste my time.
