Car description |
---|
This is about as desirable as an Apache gets. This is a real deal factory big back window, deluxe trim, tartan turquoise, fleetside shortbed half ton pickup. This is not a pieced together truck. This is how this truck came from the facotry. This was an extremely solid truck prior to the restoration. It was kept inside and was part of a private collection of rare GM pickups. When it came available 5 years ago, I jumped at the opportunity. I have owned lots of Apaches, but never one like this. I drove the truck for a few months as it was and then parked it to make few changes. That snowballed quickly, and after 4 years of investing money and time in the truck, its done and turned out gorgeous!
Not many Apaches out there like this one.
The truck has had lots of upgrades to make it ride, drive, and handle better. It has power steering, power brakes, disc brakes, independent front suspension, and more.
This truck has received a nut and bolt restoration. It has been completely gone through inside and out. This was not a quick budget build. The truck has less than 40 miles since completion. Its fresh, and ready for someone to enjoy!
The truck was refinished in its original color of Tartan Turquoise. This was a very straight truck to start with and little filler was needed. The truck was painted with quality Dupount materials, and has been color sanded and buffed to a super slick finish. The doors open and close nice.
Beautiful original floors and undercarriage. No rust in them at all, no signs of patch work. The Body mounts and lower step in the jamb are also very solid. Frame is clean as well. This is an extremely solid truck.
Bumpers, grill, headlight bezels, door handles, mirrors, tailgate latches, cab trim, bed trim, all emblems, mirrors, and wiper bezels are all either new, or replated originals. Every piece of bright-work inside and out has been been restored or replaced.
The truck has a professionally installed Nova sub frame. It has new forged drop spindles in the front with disc brakes. The master-cylinder and booster are mounted under the cab. The rear end is a GM 10 bolt. The leaf springs were sent off and re bushed and de arched. The rear has been C notched. It has new shocks.
The wheels were custom built for the truck. They are 2 piece Billet Specialties, 18s in the front and 20s in the rear, with new tires.
When you pop the hood, you will find the engine compartment is as slick as the rest of the truck. The firewall is shaved for a clean look. New hood hinges and all new hardware throughout. The motor is a smooth running and nicely detailed late model 350 that was rebuilt and dressed to look like a 283. It has all new parts including a new Edelbrock electric choke carb, new HEI distribitor, new aluminum intake, new plugs, wires, gaskets, seals, belts, hoses, alternator, waterpump, radiator, electric fan, etc. All the parts were painted base coat / clear coat prior to being assembly and are nice and slick. The tranny is a th350 that shifts nice and smooth.
A complete new exhaust system was installed.
The bed wood was finished by a professional woodworker and it shows. It was done in oak with an ebony stain. 10 coats of matte lacquer were applied, and all sanded flat between each coat. New polished stainless bed strips and hardware were installed.
The interior of the truck is all new. To start, all interior metal was stripped and painted base / clear Tartan turquoise. All new chrome knobs, switches, gauge bezel, door handles, and wind cranks. All new hardware throughout the cab. New headliner, carpet, seat upholstery, visor, and arm rests. A new tilt column was painted gloss black, and a new 59 Impala steering wheel was painted to match the interior. All new door rubber, window felts, new chrome vent window assemblies, window regulators and door strikers. Am modern wiring harness was installed.
The truck runs and drives great. It starts right up and idles smooth. Basically everything on it is new, rebuilt, or restored. There is a ton of money and time invested in this truck.
I could go on about this one forever, but I will let the pictures tell the story.
