This 1948 Chevrolet Fleetwood Convertible was finished in 2010 after a three year build. Over the next seven years, 11,358 miles have been uneventfully rolled over. Our seller bought the car about three years ago and managed to put under 2,000 miles during his time with it. Down sizing is the word of the day and so the car is now being offered for sale. The build is pretty straight forward. For the motor, there is a rebuilt Chevy V-8 with mild cam, Edelbrock Intake and Carb, Thermal coated Headers, Aluminized Exhaust with Flowmaster Mufflers. The transmission is the Chevy 700-R4, 4-speed with a TCI Shift Kit and Overdrive Module. The front suspension is Chassis Engineering adjustable Tubular Mustang with Power Steering and Disk Brakes. The rear end was a 10-Bolt Chevy on new Springs with Drums. Vintage Air was purchased and was the next project, but it got as far as being delivered and is still waiting to be installed. It comes with the car. Billet Rims are mounted, 18” in the rear and 17” in front. The interior is done in Two-Tone Leather that also covers the Front Power Seats. The rear Seat is Custom Made and covered to match along with the Custom Center Console with it’s Billet Switches and Heating Cooling Vents. The Dash is Billet Clusters with an array of VDO Gauges. The Steering Column is Billet along with the Door Handles and Window Cranks (which operate the power windows). The Exterior is done in Purple Pearl and Orange with Silver accents. Fade Away Doors and rear Fenders were molded in. The Front Hood Seam was filled and the Windshield V-Butted. A new Cloth Top was installed at the time of the build and looks just as good today as it did then. I got to drive the car around town and it runs and drives great. We also have the Build Book that describes most of the components and how they operate and were installed, so in the event that servicing is needed down the road, the new owner will be well prepared. The car has been driven and has picked up a couple of minor signs of use. There is a brushed touch up on the right front fender that does not show until you get close. There are a couple of small, quarter sized, spots of oil under the front area which took at least 3 weeks to make. The car was safety checked and is ready to be driven just about anywhere. An AC/Heater Console and AC lines came with the car, as can be seen in the images, but nothing was installed. Cars are never finished… Miles are 11,358, most likely miles since the build was done in 2010. The VIN on the driver’s side front door jam replacement VIN tag is 21FKD20366. The car is titled in Oregon with an Oregon Assigned Vin number OR90379.
