Car description

This was originally an Arizona truck and it spent its entire life there until 4 years ago when I moved to Denver, CO. In 1990 the original owner decided to build a show truck out of his daily driver, it was a project that he and his son’s worked on and enjoyed. I’m friends with the sons and I got to see this truck being built and we had a lot of fun with it once it was finished. I was fortunate enough to buy this truck in 2006 and transform it from a 90s prostreet truck to a much more modern design.

Interior

I started with the interior and replaced the floor carpet and headliner. I then added seat belts and a new Alpine radio. The huge custom sound system is amazing with the original 1990s Alpine EQ, 3 Punch Rockford Fosgate amps and 2-12" subwoofers. The subwoofer box is in the bed of the truck and is ported into the cab. The back of the subwoofer box has a Plexiglas window so you can see the speakers and a brushed aluminum cover. The custom door panels have tweeters, mid-range and 2 mid-bass speakers per door (It sounds great!) All 3 Punch amps work perfectly and are super powerful, this is when Rockford was at the top of their game. The interior panels are all wrapped with grey vinyl, including the custom made door panels, center console and amp rack behind the seats. As you can see in the pictures the console, amp-rack and the interior of the subwoofer box have red accents. Just bought a new red top Optima battery too.

Engine and transmission

This was one of the very first Chevy 350 crate engines, the ZZZ. A FIRST TPI fuel injection system was added along with a Camaro serpentine accessory drive setup. All run by a Camaro computer tuned by FIRST. The newer items are the MSD coil, distributor and wires, BeCool radiator, Wilwood master cylinder, March Billet Pulleys, PowerMaster alternator, Edelbrock water pump, Sanden A/C compressor and a second Sanden for an on-board air compressor. The auto transmission is TH400 with a shift kit and B&M QuickSilver Shifter. The engine block has been freshly painted and almost everything else on this engine is either chrome or polished. The engine and trans combo only have 4500 miles on them since their install in 1990 since this truck has been just a hobby ever since.

Suspension and wheels

When changing out the stock suspension I decided to do something a bit different and went with a Porterbuilt C4 Dropmember for the front and custom Porterbuilt rear components for the Corvette IRS. The Porterbuilt Dropmember increases ground clearance and adds rack and pinion steering. I used the complete front and rear suspension (control arms, brakes, spinals, hubs, etc.) from a 1994 C4 Corvette. The Porterbuilt items allow the use of RE-7 airbags at all 4 corners allowing the truck to lay frame and ride better than it ever did stock. The air ride system is hard plumbed and controlled by an AccuAir system, it just needs the height sensors put on. The engine driven compressor has an oiler and filter setup as well as an electric air pump as a backup. The 3-piece 22 inch West Coast Customs wheels were previously owned by Larry Fitzgerald of the Arizona Cardinals. They were completely taken apart for repairs, re-chroming of the inner and outer hoops and hardware. The center sections were powder coated silver. The new tires are Pirelli.

Body and bed

The custom paint is from 1990 and as you’ve read this truck hasn’t had a ton a use. It has always been garaged so the red paint and 9 different colors in the graphics look vibrant. But the main thing this truck needs in order to look really finished is a fair amount of paint touchup. The driver door has a small dent equivalent to a 3” door ding, the right-front fender has a 12” scrap along the top of the wheel opening and edge of the bumper. The right-rear bed corner has a 1” rub thru the blue line of the graphics. There are no major dents, just the items mentioned and some normal wear like rock chips on the front bumper, etc. This is a very straight truck, it just needs some paint touchups. The last 3 pictures show the worst of the paint issues.

Exhaust

Exhaust is a true dual system with an H-pipe, two Flow-Master mufflers and an X-pipe that brings the exhaust pipes close together at the differential to go under the Corvette rear end. The exhaust ends with a rectangular stainless steel tip under the license plate.

Fuel System

It has an Aluminum fuel cell and new fuel pump and braided lines with AN fittings.

The truck is being sold as is, no warranty. The buyer will be responsible for all shipping responsibilities, cost arrangements for shipping etc. I reserve the right to pull truck from auction at any time, it will be listed for sale locally. Actual original vehicle mileage is unknown.
