Car description |
---|
This Constitution Blue sedan led a sheltered life garaged in Rochester Hills Michigan. Constitution Blue is the correct color although not often seen on this model and never fails to attract attention. It was sold to a vintage car dealer in 7/2013 and I bought it in 11/2013. Although it ran and drove good with the original 216 ci engine, I had a low mileage 235 ci engine from a '55 Chevy truck installed. The 235 ci is essentially the same block but has mechanical upgrades and a more durable and desirable engine for today's driving. The odometer reads 38111 miles. There is some "play" in the steering but after all, it is 75 years old. The car has had a repaint at some point, has some oxidation but still maintains a nice gloss. The metal work in the interior appears to have been painted with black crinkle paint which is not original but blends well with the car. The upholstery could use some touch up in a few areas but overall very serviceable. I have found a very small amount of rust in the rocker panels under the car, but none structural or that has to be addressed. The electrical system has been changed to 12 volt with a 6 volt "step down". Meaning, all the new exterior lights and generator are 12 volt, and all interior electricals are 6 volts. The radio does not work and the horn is operated by an aftermarket button under the dash. The tires have excellent tread but are showing some signs of checkering but not to the extent they need to be replaced. You can spend a ton of money making an old car perfect, or you can drive and enjoy this perfectly blue patina '41 for the price of a few gallons of gas. Can you think of a better color for a 4th of July parade?
If the buyer wants the original 216 ci engine, I'll include it for an additional $400.This beautiful 1941 Deluxe is offered locally and subject to end the auction early if sold. Shipping is the responsibility of the purchaser. Please ask all questions prior to bidding.
