In the most significant styling change of the first-generation, Chevrolet added an exposed four-headlamp design and much more prominent grill to the 1958 year-model Corvette. The exterior also had a faux-louvered hood and chrome trunk spears added which were exclusive to 1958 models. On the interior, the tachometer was moved directly in-front of the driver, with the rpm readings topping out at 8,000 versus the 6,000 shown the previous year. Motor choices grew in 1958, including improved fuel-injected options.
