1937 Chevy Dan Page built drag car
This is a show quality Dan Page built 6.0 second NHRA certified chromemoly double frame rail powder-coated chassis. The all fiberglass body was produced by Superior GlassWorks and then had over 1000 hours of fit and finish work. The drive train consists of a 632 cubic inch 10.2 tall deck big block Chevy built by Island Racing in 2013. Engine has Dart 18 deg Big Chief heads, a sheet metal intake with two Gary Williams dominator carbs, this motor put out 1150 hp @ 7100 rpm and 965 ft lbs @ 5600. Transmission is a pro built powerglide w a Select torque converter, which spins a Mark Williams driveshaft that is linked on the back end to a Mark Williams Modular Aluminum rear housing holding an aluminum center section that contains 4.30 pro gears turning 40 spline Strange axles. Suspension has Jerry Bickel struts up front and a 4-link in the back with AFCO adjustable shocks. Brakes are MW lightweights in the front with 4 piston rears. Touching the ground up front are Goodyear 24 x 5 x 15” tires that are mounted on Weld Alumistar 1-piece spindle mount rims along with Goodyear 33.5 x 17 x 16” slicks which are wrapped around Weld Alumistar certified double beadlock rear wheels. This car will take a larger tire than what is currently on it. Electronics consist of a MSD Digital 7 ignition box, quick disconnect delay box, a 16V system with charger, data collection is handled by RacePac, driver monitors things via Autometer Pro Comp gauges while changing gears with a Hurst pistol grip NHRA recommended shifter. Along with all of the “normal” safety equipment there is a Halon fire extinguisher system with plums at the driver and in the engine bay.
Car was finished by Dan Page Race Cars and delivered to its owner June 2005. This car traveled the country in 2005 and 2006 and then raced locally in the northeast very infrequently since. This car was featured in the June 2006 issue of Drag Racing magazine as a result of being in Bakersfield CA for the March Meet nostalgia race. Car is located in Jaffrey New Hampshire.
