BARN FIND PATINA/RAT ROD/INTERNATIONAL/TRUE
PLEASE READ ENTIRE STORY! THIS IS NOT A CHEAP BUILD. NO SHORT CUTS OR EXPENSE SPARED. HAVE ALL RECEIPTS.
Truck was purchased at an estate auction in November of 2013 after being parked in the barn since 1970. Body was removed from chassis and sandblasted everything underneath and inside the cab. Then everything was painted flat black to protect from rust.
I purchased a complete 2008 Chevy Colorado extended cab for the donor truck. I used the entire chassis, electrical wiring, steering wheel, pedals and dash cluster. The truck is a 2008 (what you don’t see) with a 1941 International KB2 body.
If you like a V-nose, split windshield truck this is for you!
The local welding school made all the brackets for the body to frame, fabricated an entire floor pan and body dropped the truck. This truck isn’t lowered or on air to avoid any rough rides or future issues. Brackets for the running boards are heavy duty. The tank inside the cab have been removed for safety as well.
An aftermarket WIZARD COOLING radiator was built to fit the V-Nose perfectly. Twin 7" electric fans were installed to help it keep cool.
I installed LED lights for everything - headlights, turn signals, interior lights, tail lights, and tag lights.
Complete truck cab has sound deadening material on roof, floor and doors.
The wheels and tires set this truck apart from the boys with painted steel wheels. I had the wheels sandblasted, then I painted them. These are off of a 1930-1934 Chevy truck. I purchased new center caps, beauty rings and white wall tires - these really make the rat rod stand out!
All glass is new, new seals, door regulators work great, doors open and close. Windshield cranks open for extra air and the vent works great too!
The original seat was redone in black vinyl. Not very comfortable but it is the original seat.
The bed floor is a sheet of laminate countertop with a petrified wood look. My wife had the kitchen done in this same type of material and we loved it so much we used it in the rat rod as well.
This truck gets looks and compliments every time we take it out. I have put less than a 1,000 miles on it since completing it a little more than a year ago. The truck has the original ac compressor but no lines or condenser.
The time has come to let someone else enjoy a quality built rat rod. This is one of a kind. International’s are rare, but an International, body dropped on a 2008 Chevy Colorado with old school wheels and tires with a matching spare is one of a kind.
I took this truck to the Ottawa car show where there were over 2,000 cars and trucks and a pinup model, Miss Irish Doll (look her up on Facebook) took pictures with this truck and it is supposed to be featured in an upcoming magazine. I also took it to two car shows this fall and received trophies - one of them being Best Rat Rod.

We are having lots of questions about the engine so I have uploaded some pictures of under the hood. Like I said in the description, the truck is a 2008 Chevy Coloradowith a 5 cylinder engine. You could literally drive it across country if you wanted to. Everything you do not see (under the truck) is a 2008 Chevy Colorado. YOU WILL NOT FIND A BUILD LIKE THIS ANYWHERE ELSE!!
THIS TRUCK WAS NOT PAINTED TO LOOK PATINA. I BUFFED AND BUFFED THE PAINT OUT UNTIL ALL THE DIRT AND DUST WAS GONE AND THE ORIGINAL PAINT LOOKS THIS GREAT. THIS IS NOT EVEN CLEAR COATED.
Also, I forgot to mention the truck has the original heater but I have had the heater core rebuilt and it works great along with a brand new 12 volt motor for the fan.
