1968....1st year of the Longhorn.Extra-long bed intended for over-cab campers.Filling the RV market before there were RVs.The truck-specific camper is (or was) here locally, and was for sale at one time.
1/2 year production for 68.69-on were full years, making the 68 more rare.Steel crank 327Camel hump era/style headsMuncie granny-low 4 speedoriginal set of 5 split rim wheelsoriginal set of 4 hub caps3/4 ton leaf spring suspensionNo power steering/no pb/no ac/ factory am radio.starts/runs/drives
Father son project from decades past, that got nowhere.All sheet metal in excellent shape.Front clip in primer.Grille/grille guard/doors/glass/hinges/"trailering" mirrors.....all excellent.Worst rust is shown, in lower right of cab.No carpet/no matting.....no rust.Floors perfectDash and door panels excellent1/8" sheet of expanded metal was perimeter welded into the bed.I cut it out, revealing rotted wood.Still needs much trimming n dressing.Fender panels all good/solid.Tailgate included.
Only non-original item found......little Holley 4 barrel replacement carb.

Added pics of door panels (little mildew).Dash pad is perfect.Old Kelsey Hays "electric" brake controller w/ pressure feed line.Original AM radio and speaker.
Mothballed the truck 15 years ago.It drove to where it is.Going to have to remove the wheels and break the shoes loose from the drums.
