Car description |

For sale is my 1972 Corvette LT-1 Coupe. It is numbers matching and was restored to a high quality driver. Engine and transmission match the VIN. This is a real LT-1 car, very rare and steadily increasing in value. Here is a description of the car:

The car was restored in 2004. Paint, interior, suspension all done at that time. Upper half of the engine and the transmission have been rebuilt. This is a high quality driver, not restored to original like new condition. There is a good balance of original and new where one could drive and enjoy the car and be proud to show it off at the same time. It is not a top-flight car, but like anything else with time and money it could be. I have a very thick stack of receipts and paperwork.
To the best of my knowledge, the engine, intake manifold, heads, valve covers, exhaust manifolds, transmission, radiator, alternator, side and rear glass are numbers matching/correct. I'm sure there are more original/correct parts that I have not listed.
The rear differential codes show to be a 3.36 gear from mid to late 70's Corvette.
Holley 4160 750cfm carb converted to 4150 and rebuilt last year. Carb was then tuned with a wide-band 02 sensor to run near stoich at cruise and part throttle.
Points distributor that came in the car when I bought it is a 1112051 from a BB, maybe it was put in from the factory, I doubt it, but possible. I installed an HEI distributor but still have the points distributor. I also have all of the ignition shielding.
The frame and birdcage are beautiful.
I have partially documented the car. I have the shipping report from NCRS, sold new at United Chevrolet in Worcester, MA. It appears to have lived in MA it's whole life (up until I bought it and brought it to NY). I have ownership information from 1990 to present. I do not have a tank sticker, documents from the selling dealer or owner information prior to 1990.
Within the last year I have rebuilt the carb, installed HEI distributor, replaced plugs and wires, replaced valve cover gaskets, restored the exhaust manifolds, changed coolant, replaced thermostat, replaced fuel and air filters, performed oil changes, replaced the front wheel bearings, replaced the front calipers, replaced all 4 rotors and brake pads, installed stainless brake hoses, replaced all 4 tires, adjusted the valves (correctly!), had the paint ceramic coated, and more.
This car runs and drives wonderfully. I would not hesitate to drive this car anywhere. You could show the car, you could drive the car, you could simply enjoy the car.
The only known mechanical issues are the drivers door window crank operates but not smoothly. The windshield wiper door opens on rare occasions, but then shuts and stays shut. Once in awhile I notice a drop of oil on the ground. There may be other issues, major or minor, I recommend you have the car inspected prior to committing to purchasing. The car is sold as-is with no warranty or guarantees. Please do not hesitate to ask any questions.
Thank you!
