Car description

This 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle is cool done right. Take one clean, straight Chevelle SS, strip off most of the trim, dress it in icy silver paint, and stuff it full of big block horsepower. The result is a car that offers a cool minimalist look, lots of performance, and remains a machine that will stand out in just about any crowd. It's almost as if someone asked, "What would a 2016 Chevelle look like?" The clean silver paint thoroughly updates the car without needing any major modifications to do so. The clean sheetmetal is all as intended, right down to the stock hood with twin horsepower bulges, and it looks flat-out awesome. It was built in the mid-2000s, and so it shows a few very minor signs of use and age, but it has a timeless appeal that will look great thirty years from now. Some of the trim was deleted, including the SS badges and emblems on the sides, but there's no mistaking this car's identity, and it does without even a set of stripes, so you know they were intent on standing apart. Gaps are decent all around and when you combine the stance with the clean lines, you get a car that whispers performance rather than shouting about it. It does retain some chrome and trim, including the bumpers and grille, plus the SS badges that remind you this isn't a garden-variety car.The interior is definitely Chevelle but with a modern twist. Low-back buckets are deeply bolstered and fitted with cloth inserts that help hold you in place, and aside from a small tear in the driver's side outer bolster, they're in great condition. Stock carpets, a fresh set of door panels, and a taut headliner keep it from straying too far from the original design, but the beautiful brushed stainless gauges from Classic Instruments give the dashboard a whole new look. That's a Hurst shifter with cue ball knob on a Muncie 4-speed and discreet little vents under the dash provide ice cold R134a A/C. For comfort, there's a tilt steering column and a billet wheel and an AM/FM/CD stereo system sounds a lot better than the original AM unit. In back, the trunk features a correct mat and spatter finish paint, as well as a big subwoofer and the remotely-mounted Optima battery. With this car, you still get that huge kick of torque from a big block V8, a 396 inch Chevrolet motor, to be precise. Super clean under the hood and detailed to impress, it wears Chevy Orange paint, finned valve covers, and an Edelbrock intake for a performance look. The front end is dressed up with a cool serpentine belt drive system for the accessories, and all the wiring and plumbing was carefully hidden out of sight to make it super sanitary. There's Holley carburetor up top, an MSD ignition system, and a pair of long-tube headers feeding an X-pipe and Dynomax mufflers that sound great. The 4-speed powers a 12-bolt rear end, and both the front and rear suspension have been lowered about two inches for the perfect rake. Hotchkiss supplied a pair of beefy sway bars, while Global West control arms keep the rear end located under acceleration. 17-inch American Racing Salt Flats wheels add to the very smooth overall look and wear 235/45/17 front and 285/40/17 rear BFGoodrich rubber. There are a lot of big block Chevelles out there, and it's rare for us to be so pleasantly surprised by one that does things differently. The look is fantastic, the power is addicting, and the presentation is extremely well done. There's a lot to like here. Call today!
