Car description

This 1946 Chevy pickup's awesome stance is only the beginning of a very impressive truck. With a 350 cubic inch Chevy V8, a red hot paint job, and a bed that can still work for a living, it might be the most fun you can have in a truck. The bright red paint job is vivid, no doubt about that; you will not be sneaking around in this truck. But somehow, it works really well on the '40s shape which is honest and very stylish, even today. The post-war Chevy trucks were so good looking that modifications are all but unnecessary, so this one still carries all its trim and factory detail work, all of it in great shape. The paint is beautifully done, from the mini flames licking out of the hood vents to the CHEVROLET lettering on the tailgate, and the reflections in the rounded fenders is distortion-free, so you know the guys doing the work were on top of their game. Since pickup trucks weren't famous for their show chrome anyway, the grille and bumper, as well as the windshield frame, were all painted satin silver to add contrast that looks sleek and modern. There are a pair of simple taillights tucked in under the tailgate and the original paint-abusing tailgate chains have been removed for a clean look out back. And as I said, the bed isn't some delicate dance floor, but a neatly finished setup that looks intentionally distressed for a cool working-class vibe. The interior is way more luxurious than any pickup truck of the '40s has a right to be. The wide black cloth bench seat is a custom job with red piping and an embroidered Bowtie emblem, a big upgrade over the original slippery park bench that came in the truck. Matching door panels with more red embroidery were crafted just for this truck and plush carpets make it feel quiet and comfortable on the road and luxurious inside. The factory dashboard has new Equus gauges in a custom panel and both a Cadillac steering wheel and tilt steering column were installed so you don't need a trucky driving position to cruise. The crank-out windshield is fully functional, which makes a big difference on warm days and for cooler nights, there's an original-style heater hanging under the dash. With a 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 under the hood, you'll have no problems on the street, because this is a truck that moves like a Camaro. The industrial-strength small block motor wears vintage Corvette finned valve covers, a finned air cleaner on a 4-barrel carburetor, and bright red plug wires, so there's plenty of eye candy, all offset by the inner fenders and firewall finished in satin black for a very cool, low-maintenance look. It's linked to a TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and a 10-bolt rear end that hangs on a trick set of monoleaf springs. A late-model GM subframe carries an independent front suspension with power steering and power disc brakes. The purring dual exhaust system offers glasspack-style mufflers that have a nice bark when you get on it but quiet down for easy cruising. And you just can't beat that rake! Cool black Torque Thrust wheels with polished rims carry staggered 17-inch radials for just the right hot rod look. This is an easy truck to love with all the smart upgrades, and it drives beautifully. Cool, right? Call today!
