Description

For sale...Garage Kept 1969 Dusk Blue with black vinyl top Nova. This car was purchased new on 4/20/1970 from Ed Mollison Chevrolet in Birmingham, AL. The car had 2,603 on it at that time for the dealer driving it. I have the original bill of sale, GM warranty transfer paperwork, Protecto plate, and other documents. The original owner, a 55 yr old lady, lived in Hartselle, AL and owned/drove the car until her death in 2015. I purchased the car from a friend, who was friends of the family, at the beginning of this year. It was my intention to modify the car into a restomod with an LS EFI engine and 4 or 6 speed automatic.
After looking the car overextensively I decided to keep the car "as is" rather than cut it up. Here's what I know about it's condition and mechanics...car is 100% rust free and has never had any rust or rust repair. It was undercoated by the dealer. Every piece of chrome and trim is 100% GM. The lady had bumped her garage doora few times, so when I got the car I replaced the bumpers, fender eyebrows, and hood lip trim with NOS pieces that I had on hand. All the stainless and remaining trim is inpristinecondition and has been hand polished. The body is very straight with a few minor (small) scratches, most have been touched up by my local body shop. The paint is 100% original and no panels have been painted on. My body shop lightly buffed the car to bring out some of it's original shine. You can see checkering in the paint close up, but overall it looks great for 47+ year old paint. The vinyl top is original and in perfect condition. The glass is also, not fogged, and in very nice condition.
The interior of the car is as it should be for a single lady owning and driving the car only 36,000 miles in 45 years. The seats, headliner, dash, rubber floor....everything is nearly showroom perfect. Everything works inside as it should, even the AM radio.
The car has power steering and air conditioning, no power brakes. There are no major leaks or issues with the engine, transmission, rear end, etc. I had the ac converted and charged...it blows cold air and is comfortable in 90 degree weather. The 307/200hp runs great! The spark plugs and wires were just replaced along with a carb rebuild and oil/filer change. The brakes are in great condition with plenty of shoe left. The shocks were just replaced with new Monroes. The muffler was original and had a couple pin holes in it, so the muffler and tail pipe were also just replaced. When I got the car it had 40+ yr old tires that showed quite a bit of dry rot, so I replaced those with new BFG TA's on the factory 14" ralleys, original to the car.
There's the short version of the car. I have all the paperwork in a folder that will go with the buyer. The car is nice...real nice. If you have any questions please contact me. My reserve is $17,000, which is less than what I have in it, those documents will be given to the buyer also.
