Up for sale we have a 1961 Chevy Impala. It has gone through a full restoration. They did many upgrades such as Disc Brakes, Vintage AC, and the engine was also upgraded to a 454 Big Block. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, interior, and heartbeat of the Chevy, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.
Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 70 to 80 cars at all times. We don't have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So, that's how we can sell for less than other dealers. To contact us for more information, pictures, or any questions call our office at (865)988-8088 or visit our SmokyMountainTraders website.
We will start off with the exterior of the Impala. The body is straight as an arrow with very good fit and finish of all the panels. It's covered in Black paint that has a deep rich shine and is slick to the touch. Under the hood, in the trunk, and the in the Jams it looks great. The black is accented by the silver inlay in the side trim that all lines up well. All the glass looks good with good fit of the side glass. All the weather stripping appears to have been replaced at the time of the restoration. The bumpers as well as other chrome was also replaced. As for the grill and roof rail trim it all looks very good. To finish off the exterior it's sitting on a set of 18" and 20" Racelines.
Next, we will take a look at the interior of the '61. On the inside it sports a ton of eye appeal. It has the factory bench seats that are covered in the correct red and white covers. New red carpet was installed and it has a white headliner with good stainless roof rail trim. The dash is painted in red and has upgraded dash gauges with a vintage style am/fm radio. To keep from cutting the dash in A/C vents are neatly installed under the dash.
Finally, we will take a look at the heartbeat of the Chevy. Under the hood it's powered by a 454 Big Block V8 with Polished Aluminum Valve Covers and an Aluminum Breather. The front of the engine was upgraded to a Serpentine Pulleys system that are also aluminum. The Alternator and AC Compressor are chrome. It has coated shorty headers and an Aluminum Radiator. The brakes were upgraded to a dual Master Cylinder and front disc brakes. It also has Power Steering. The trans is a 350 Turbo that's mated to the stock style rear end. When you look under it the floors all look great with the front pans being replaced.
