Car description

With regret, it is time to let go of a stalled project because of business and time demands. I have owned this truck since 1975 and have driven it off and on over the years. Was disassembled to finally fix the rust-for the second time- in 2002 and off road since. Has been started regularly, moves and brakes/parking brake work. A great candidate to go back to stock or a street project. Originally Neptune Green. CLEAR TITLE IN HAND.

Many new parts installed, but this was over the years. So all parts described below as “New” were replaced in the past, and are not the original parts. 8,268 miles on all mechanical work and parts. Odometer set back to 0 at time of engine rebuild.

New Covercraft 4 Season Storm Guard cover last fall. Have tossed the windshield, back glass, heater, front bed panel, rear bed sill, bed wood and strips.

1955 Commercial Factory Assembly and Parts manuals included. Tons of receipts.

DRIVETRAIN

Original 235 Engine rebuilt correctly, but some years ago. First year for insert bearings! .010off on: crank, (magnafluxed) cylinders, deck and head. Line bored, new oil pump, water pump, vacuum fuel pump, valve guides with seals, rod bushings, hydraulic cam conversion Sig Erson RV-20-H #151921 (RV -3/4), new rocker shaft and arms, rebuilt carb.

I have just replaced the Pertronix ignition and the battery in Feb.

I had installed a correct Chevrolet commercial vehicle 55-57 6 cyl. Overdrive transmission with correct carb linkage / wiringand kick down switch.

Newer stock exhaust and NOS hangers. Accessory oil filter. Radiator was re-cored.

Rebuilt 3:90 third member, new axle bearings and seals.

Rebuilt generator and starter. Have new blank tags. Gen is charging. New Starter switch.

New brake cylinders, master, drums, front bearings, seals, drag link and tie rod.

New front springs and new motor/trans mounts.

BODY

Original seat recovered with authentic tuck and roll. Matching naugahyde material door panels and visor.

Clear coat black on column / shifter tree, radiator panel, horn, oil bath air cleaner.

New M&H Electric wiring harnesses.

Front fender rear half sections, Right and Left welded in. Solid, but surface rust on both.

New outer cab corners welded in. There is a pair of hand fashioned inner corners in place, not the newer stamped versions.

New steps and rockers welded in.

New body mount pads – cab and radiator support.

Chrome was redone years ago, but not show chrome and light pits are coming back.

Door bottoms welded in, but not well. Has warpage, covered in DuraGlass.

Original front and rear painted bumpers. Rear drilled for bolt on bumper hitch.

Newer GM tailgate-no dings or seam rust.

New pair of bed sidechannels included, old ones already removed.

Small rust throughspots on cab top from trapped moisture fromtoasted plastic tarp disintegration under old truck cover . Older spray on sound proofing is starting to come up.
