History - Originality - Enhancement These three qualities are all included for your consideration to purchase this 1970 Camaro SS/RS. Family owned and garaged since 1970. Current owner/seller owned since 1975. I passed my first state "drivers-test" with this car in 1972. My Camaro was produced at Chevrolet's Norwood, hio plant May 1970 (week 2, s one of the approximate 12,476 Super-Sports built that year. Equipped as follows: Color-Code 10 (Classic White) / RPO-Z27 Super- Sport (350CI-300-HP L-48 engine) / RPO-Z22 Rally-Sport (referred to as the "split-bumper" option) / RPO-D80 (rear deck spoiler) / RPO-M38 (TH-350 automatic transmission) / RPO-G80 Limited-Slip Positraction (12-bolt) rear axle (3.31:1 ratio) / RPO-C60 Air Conditioning / RPO-J50 Power Brakes (front disc, ear drum) / RPO-N40 Power Steering / RPO-N33 Tilt Steering Column / RPO-AK1 Deluxe Seat Belts / RPO-AO1 Soft Ray Tinted Glass / RPO-D55 Center Console / RPO-U14 Special Instrumentation / RPO-U63 AM Radio / RPO-U80 Rear Speaker / RPO-ZP5 Appearance Guard Group (door edge guards, olor-keyed floor mats, isor vanity mirror) / RPO-Z23 Interior Accent Group (wood-grain dash panel & steering wheel inserts) / RPO-ZQ2 Operating Convenience Group (dash clock, port mirrors, ear window defroster). This Camaro has never suffered accident or frame damage and retains it's original sheet metal, loor and trunk pans, umpers, rim-moldings and glass. This is as solid and "honest" a 1970 Camaro Super-Sport as you're likely to find. The original Owner's Manual and Protecto-Plate are provided. Also provided are the original (printed duplicates) 1970 Chevrolet Camaro Assembly Manual, 970 Camaro Wiring Diagram Manual and 1970 Fisher "F-Body" Service Manual. Unfortunately I never located the Build-Sheet. Original odometer mileage is 83,200 miles. I elected not to "reset" or "turn-back" the odometer as is state-allowed after a complete restoration. Restoration planning started in 1997. Actual restoration began in 2000 as a complete "frame-off", otal disassembly. This was performed by myself at my home garage. The restoration included retaining the stock exterior (ie: repainting original code-10 white, tc.) and interior appearances while enhancing overall performance, andling and drivability. Disassembly of the original engine revealed cracking in the block attributed to incorrect pistons installed by Chevrolet during 1970 production! Whoever said "they don't build them like they used to?"!! As a result, he "numbers-matching" part of the plan was revised. The original TH-350 automatic transmission was sold. The restoration continued till its completion in June 2008. The focal point........build the car to be driven was realized. I wanted no part of owning a trailer-queen. All components operate as they should. The car runs and drives beautifully. Perspective buyers can bid with confidence, and the buyer drive anywhere, ny distance in confidence, omfort and pride. The following list outlines enhancement components installed for the restoration. There may be some omitted due to listing-space. As you'll notice, nly the best quality brand parts were used and not much expense was spared. Receipts and comprehensive component information/instruction included with car purchase. Mileage since June 2008 completion = 4,600. Body: As mentioned, he car received a frame-off, omplete disassembly prior to professional body shop service and paint. All panels, enders, oors, ood and deck-lid, umpers, rim, oldings, ighting, indows & glass, nbsp;interior components, ngine, rive-train, uspension were removed by myself with great care. The only item not removed was the original headliner due to its perfect condition and fitment. Original paint color (code-10 Classic White, -coats base color, -coats clear) applied to body and separated panels and doors. The bumpers have been re-chromed as well as the front grill surround molding. As a bonus, am including (if wanted) a separate Goodmark 2-inch cowl-induction hood (painted the same time) provided target sale-price reached. Subframe media blasted and powder-coated semi-gloss black. Under carriage thoroughly cleaned, repped and painted. All weather-stripping and strip-caulking replaced. Other than cleaning, loor and trunk pans untouched based on perfect/solid condition. Dynamat installed (double layer) from firewall thru trunk, nd including door panels. Interior: Seats re-upholstered with Deluxe Comfort Weave including all new foam buns. Installed matching Comfort Weave door panels. New "loop-pile" carpeting. Replaced original dash-pad (due to slight warping). Re-built original clock with quartz movement (keeps time perfectly). Instrumentation cleaned and replaced all lighting. Added period-correct Autometer gauges (oil pressure, il temperature, acuum) mounted/centered below stereo. Custom installed sound system consisting of Kenwood Excelon head-unit/CD Player, B-Quart front component speakers, L Audio rear accent speakers, L Audio 300-watt amplifier and subwoofer trunk-mounted.
